News 'Islands Waiting for You' and 'Moonlight of Alola': Japan's Next Sun and Moon TCG Set!

So tapu lele's ability can only be used once like shaymin or multiple times? I'm guessing this means you can only use one tapu lele ability even if you bench multiple.
Tapu Lele's effect takes place when it is playet from your hand, similar to Shaymin. Seeing as how playable this is - good effect, good attack, and 1 retreat cost - every deck should run at least 1-of. I expect the price to be 10,15,28 - UR,FA, SR respectively

It's just a matter of time before N gets rotated out.

Y'know, I haven't given it much thought, but... will N actually get another re-print?
It's been a while since his games, though he did just get one in Fates Collide...
Will Fates Collide make the cut-off for Standard rotation?

Lele is basically Jirachi + Lugia; I'd hope it would at least match Jirachi's price point.
Maybe... 28,35,40?

I don't think so. .
I think that Tapu Lele will be the new $90 staple like Shaymin EX out of the set from XY titled "Roaring Skies"
I think Ninetales will see more play then metagross and i also think lycanroc may be a deck staple with devo sprays

I sure hope you're right about it being that high but I doubt it. Right now Jirachi is high because the card is no longet in print. When the set first released Jirachi wasn't as high as it is now. Just like Full art N is really high now cuz its no longer in print.
Also, as we saw in this past rotation, Standard rotated out XY, Flashfire, Furious Fists, and Phantom Forces - Standard lost 4 sets. If we assume that we will be losing 4 sets again, and all indications points that is what is to be expected, Standard will most likely be from Breakthrough onward. So I think N is here for a while in Standard thanks to Fates Collide (which I dont think will be cut at roration time).

Very good point!~

I guess my logic would be...
the price of Jirachi would set the standard for Lele's price, and cause it to have the values I was thinking of : 28, 35, 40
OR
the printing of Lele will cause the price of Jirachi to drop, and Lele will hit similar price points to Jirachi as a replacement : 20, 30, N/A
So the inflation of Jirachi from being out of print, would indirectly cause Lele's base value to be higher.
But Lele can also replace Lugia, so I was leaning more towards the higher values~

I don't want to say that it WILL or WON'T, but I do want to say that I think it SHOULDN'T survive rotation. Too many GX attacks involve searching your deck for cards. A lot of regular attacks from SM2 do it too. N utterly destroys these attacks and wastes either your turn or your epic once-per-game attack. Your opponent gets to refresh their hand and set your game plan back a turn. It's simply too good. Bumping N to a 4-of as a counter to these searching attacks makes them pretty obsolete and the last thing Pokemon wants is for their new cards to be purchased less because they can be countered by old ones that are out of print.

I have this idea for a Lurantis GX/ Golisopod/ Eeveelutions AOR Deck. Wonder if it'll work.

EDIT: Something like this deck (http://thecharizardlounge.com/2017/02/10/a-moonlit-illusion-umbreon-gxzoroark/) but with Lurantis and Golisopod instead of Zoroark and Umbreon.

It honestly might. Forest lets Golisipod evolve up right away and DCE gets him attacking pretty quick. Unless you can deal 160 damage he effectively has 190 HP for a one prize pokemon. With the eeveelutions he'll be one hitting anything (most things?) with a fire/water/lightning weakness. That's a OHKO on Volc, Yveltal, Lurantis, Solgaleo, MRay, SHAYMIN, etc as well as whatever non-EX/GXs you run into along the way. I'd honestly drop Lurantis in favor of more consistency cards. She doesn't use DCE and is a two prize liability that does less damage in most cases than Golisipod.

Parasect – Grass – 110 HP
Stage 1 – Evolves from Paras

[C][C] Fury Cutter: 10+ damage. Flip 3 coins. If 1 of them is heads, this attack does 20 more damage. If 2 of them are heads, this attack does 60 more damage. If all of them are heads, this attack does 120 damage.

[G][G][C] Mushroom Drain: 70 damage. Heal 30 damage from this Pokémon.

Weakness: Fire ×2
Resistance: none
Retreat Cost: 3

Then this one then. 260 damage with weakness ;).

Just kidding by the way. Thanks for the pointers! I still have a lot of thinking to do.

I agree
but there is a but.. 20x energy on both active pokemon is practically the strongest attack we've ever seen. Mewtwo ruled. Then yveltal then M mewtwo, and then yveltal again. Will it ever stops? In combination of it's ability, i would think this card will be worth alot of money. Also, even though Jirachi was accessible by a level by, it only had 90 health. This has almost double that. We will need to see. 1 more thing. If dark rules the meta again, Lele's attack will ignore resistance.
Also, with N, I do not think they will reprint him again. Perhaps if they do, they'll make a new FA. I was think they'd be more likely to reprint AZ or some supporter like that later in sun and moon like they did N in FC. They are both kings, am I right?

you can use 1 per lele

YES! This is it!
Thanks!
Too bad it is even more massive than Sun and Moon.

Solgaleo/Metagros would need both Stage 2s active just to attack every turn. Even then, Solgaleo discards 3 energy and Metagross only retrieves 1. It's a system that's bound to burn out eventually.

I quite like the idea of this deck. I would point out that Metagross' ability should attach an energy for each Metagross in play. So you just need two Metagross out and Solgaleo can swing for 230 every single turn, the system becomes sustainable. Solgaleo's GX attack can get you a head start on energy requirements while you get your Metagross out. Metagross' clause of attaching to active only can be helped by Solgaleo's Ultra Road ability. They can both benefit from the same rare candy supply.

That is a very big just though. You are looking at two full Metagross in play plus one Solgaleo, two other bench slots for back-ups in build. Final slot for a Shaymin or Oranguru or something. That's a whole lot of your deck dedicated to monster cards. You would want 4-4-4 and 3-3-3 and a full compliment of Rare Candy. You get killed stone dead by both ability lock and item lock.

So as awesome as it would be the occasional time it worked, gotta agree it's another Steelix/Crawdaunt archetype that will be hard pressed to see any kind of success.

Decidueye also hits, what I like to call, the: "Magic 110"
Meaning, in just two energy attachments, he can hit for 110 damage (90+20 from ability).
This is important for knocking out Shaymins in one hit, and for knocking out most other supporters/basics in 2.
Both Solgaleo and Metagross do not meet this requirement, and also have secondary effects that cripple their ability to attack twice in a row.
They both need support, so having them support each other is just... clunky.

Fates Collide -- 74/124 Common
[C][C] Turmoil Strike
This attack does 50 damage to 1 of your opponent's Pokémon that has any damage counters on it. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.)
I've never seen a single list run that mouth nor should they, but hey I'm not going to argue about competitive play here

You're probably right.
I haven't watched any tournies with that variant, but it's a thing people run.
Just attacking with Decidueye is probably more effective though~

The Deciplume list that placed runner-up at Oceania Internationals had a Meowth, It's honestly not a terrible tech of you think about it. Lysandre something that can't get out of the active easily, then start sniping the bench.
