We now have an exclusive photo of this year’s McDonald’s Pokemon TCG set, confirming the card list we posted last week! All 15 cards are reprints, but feature new numbering for this set.
Like last year’s 25th anniversary set, the 15 cards will be available in both foil and non-foil versions. This means the set will technically feature 30 prints. You will receive a 4-card booster pack that contains a foil version of one of the 15 cards. The other three cards will be non-foil versions.
The foil versions will be printed on the same confetti holofoil paper used for past McDonald’s sets.
As posted last week, this year’s Happy Meal promotion will take place from August 9th to September 26th. Each Happy Meal will come with a 4-card pack, a TCG coin, and a “Match Battle” spinner toy. The coins and toys will feature Pikachu, Growlithe, Smeargle, Victini, Rowlet, and Gossifleur. The toys will change every week:
Last year’s McDonald’s promotion caused quite a frenzy due to the surge in the TCG’s popularity during the pandemic. Most stores put a limit on how many Happy Meals fans could purchase and did not allow the Pokemon toys to be sold separately like in previous years. The same should apply this year.
Thanks goes to McDonald’s employee @Drakers_12 for exclusively sending us these photos!
