Jumbo Cards of All Starter Pokemon Releasing for Pokemon’s 25th Anniversary! By: Water Pokémon Master Posted 1 week ago to TCG 31 comments To celebrate Pokemon’s 25th anniversary, jumbo cards of all 24 Starter Pokemon will be released in special booster packs! (Jumbo cards are about three times the size of regular cards.) Each card is a reprint from the Pokemon’s debut set, but features the 25th anniversary logo over the artwork. (The Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle cards from Base Set no longer show a copyright acknowledging Wizards of the Coast. This is the only modification to the cards. This is also the first time we’re seeing digital images of cards from the WOTC era.) Each generation will get a “First Partner Pack” containing three jumbo cards of its Starter Pokemon as well as two regular booster packs. Each pack will retail for $9.99. They will be sold at stores and the Pokemon Center websites: March 5, 2021: Pokémon TCG: First Partner Pack (Galar) April 2, 2021: Pokémon TCG: First Partner Pack (Alola) May 7, 2021: Pokémon TCG: First Partner Pack (Kalos) June 4, 2021: Pokémon TCG: First Partner Pack (Unova) July 9, 2021: Pokémon TCG: First Partner Pack (Sinnoh) Aug. 6, 2021: Pokémon TCG: First Partner Pack (Hoenn) Sept. 3, 2021: Pokémon TCG: First Partner Pack (Johto) Oct. 8, 2021: Pokémon TCG: First Partner Pack (Kanto) You will be able to store the jumbo cards in a “First Partner Collector’s Binder.” It will release on February 26th for $9.99. It can hold 30 jumbo cards. It will come with a jumbo Pikachu card, pictured in the group image below. This won’t be the only Starter Pokemon promotion for the TCG. Thanks to leaks, we know there will also be a TCG promotion at McDonalds. We also know about a special 25th anniversary set releasing in the fall, the same time the Kanto Partner Pack releases.
Technically they're not 'booster packs' cuz u can't make decks w big cards and therefore can not boost said nonexistant big deck... I'm fun at parties
The McDonalds promos will be completely different artwork. The Chimchar, for instance, is a reprint of Ultra Prism with the stamp.
Aw man! Why couldn't they have gone with Naoyo Kimura's Chikorita and Midori Harada's Treecko instead of the Ken Sugimori cards? Both those cards had such fantastic art...
I am SUPER hyped about the anniversary set! Just really, REALLY hoping that I'm going to be able to get hold of any of them considering we're still in lockdown again in the UK (Meant to be reviewed again in early February, but at worst could go into late March) - hell, it's in part due to this that those 'On The Ball' cards have been paused for the time being. Failing that, it'll be turning to eBay... as long as they're not stupidly overpriced. Had a hard enough time finding Champion's Path at sane prices ^^;
Is anybody even REMOTELY concerned about scalpers right now? Because even if YOU aren't... I know, its a big letdown and makes no sense whatsoever in terms of historical consistency, they could've at least left everything but the actual code, but it's not as if we would have been able to use it anyways.
I don't mind personally, I was just pointing it out because the main post says only the Wizards cards were changed. They scrapped the E-reader support half way through the RS era so it's not really wrong to not include it.
Well, goodbye 90 dollars that aren’t being used on Pokémon cards, it was fun while it lasted. Go join the shining fates area of dollars to waste on cool paper.
