Claydol, Energy Recycler Reprint from ‘Rapid Strike Master!’ By: Steffenka Posted 2 weeks ago to TCG 24 comments A new Claydol and an Energy Recycler reprint will be in S5R Rapid Strike Master! The set releases in Japan on January 22nd, and will then be a part of our Battle Styles set, which is released on March 19th. Thanks goes to JimCheeseIt for translations! Claydol – Psychic – HP120 Stage 1 – Evolves from Baltoy [C] Power Split: Attach [P] Energy from your discard pile to your Pokemon in any way you like, until the total number of Energy attached to your Pokemon is the same as the total number of Energy attached to your opponent’s Pokemon. [P][P][C] Psyshot: 100 damage. Weakness: Darkness (x2) Resistance: Fighting (-30) Retreat: 2 Energy Recycler was last printed in Forbidden Light, and has been out of the Standard format since August 28th, 2020. Fun fact: This is the first time the card has been printed without a Psychic Energy orb in the art.
Speaking of reprints, and I know this is off topic, are we ever going to get that Cynthia promo from Japan? Also, not to be impatient or anything, nobody has answered my query about whether Battle Styles is going to be another Champions Path or Vivid Voltage.
Shining Fates is the new mini set, so it would be more like Champion's Path. Battle Styles, on the other hand, is a new main set, so it would be more like Vivid Voltage. As for Cynthia? We just don't know. Because the card has already rotated, it's not super likely we'll get the card at all. There is some hope, however, as in the survey pushed out a while ago, TPCi asked about interest in a sort of 'Expanded Trainer's Toolkit' that could potentially include the card. Whether or not they actually end up making the product remains to be seen.
For the players, a 'reprint' is when a card is released with the same name/text/functionality with a card previously released but has since rotated out/stopped printing. It doesn't matter if it has the same or different artwork. If it lets you play a previously non-legal card in standard, it's a reprint.
Energy Recycler - gosh, we really need it in some decks. Claydol - nah! Stage 1, dependant on the opponent, not as an ability.3
A new story has just been posted to PokéBeach's front page: Camping Gear and Orbeetle from S5! Posts you make after this point will immediately appear on the front page and vice versa. Discuss!
Orbeetle - if you can turn 2 Orbeetle, getting out stage 2s is very very easy. Well, Orbeetle itself is a stage 2, so good luck. 3-4 Camping Set - searches card, pretty straight forward. It ends your turn so better use it turn 1. 4?
camping gear could be decent orbeetle is a decent card in concept but i think it could be too clunky to actually be used
Nice to see a more viable Lifesplosion in Orbeetle. Rare candy plays are a lot easier than Gen V/VI Fossil mechanics. It's even a colorless requirement this time, too! Tis a shame that Vs, VMaxes, & TagTeams are still gonna stomp all over such a deck, though.
Yuru Camping Gear looks pretty great for turn one, but you'd generally want to search for a card you'd like to play immediately, not hold for the next turn. In terms of consistency, it's more of a "win more" card. I'm sure people will try it, but I'm not sure they will love it. If it sees play, it might just make already consistent decks be more consistent, rather than help newcomers enter the format.
And with heavy hearts we must choose Orbeetle over Cradilly in expanded because it's more consistent. You will be missed.
Did you just say instant stage 2 playability? No basics, no stage 1s, no rare candies, no nothing? Is this the card we’ve all been waiting for?! (Which, ironically, is on a stage 2)
both cards are good, the camping gear might be better but the orbeetle is about to be insane in standard this card with 4 energy means getting out all the most powerful cards in the game no penelty not bdif off the bat but very very good and yeah its omastar basically
Camping gear seems interesting I don't know how good it is at the price of your turn you get any card in your deck which seems pretty nice, although beware of Marnie if you are tempted to use this card
Could you first turn get a blipbug out and try and find evolution incense and skyla and then the next turn use skyla to find the rare candy? It would sort of be like having 8 rare candies if you had 4 skyla and 4 rare candy, it would be your supporter for the turn though.
Greens exploration could be better actually if you don't have many Pokémon with abilities in your deck
