‘Cosmic Eclipse’ Largest Set in History, Contains At Least 271 Cards

The last Sun & Moon set will be the largest Pokemon set in history.

Thanks to early openings on social media, we now Cosmic Eclipse‘s secret rares up to #271/236. This beats Unified Minds‘s 258 cards and GX Ultra Shiny‘s 250 cards.

The 50+ secret rares from TAG All Stars will not be in this set (thank Arceus). TPCi may save them for next year’s holiday set.

The character rare cards will occupy the reverse holo slot. This means it should be much easier to collect them.

If there are any secret rares after #271, we don’t know what they are yet.

The fact we’re now caught up with Japan lines up with my theory article on why I think we’ll get synced releases starting next year.

There have been leaks stating that the Groudon deck will contain the Seismitoad line. This will presumably mean that the deck could focus around the dragon majesty Trapinch or cosmic eclipse Palpitoad to do damage to your own bench and then swing for higher numbers with a Terrakion or Seismitoad itself.
As for Kyogre, it will most likely contain a Phione (they were released together in Japan) and an Empoleon line (this was paired with Phione at pre-release tournaments). We could see the Sawsbuck line in either one of the decks, alongside Kricketune or the Emboar line as they were all prominent in the pre-release. It is possible that the Groudon deck will be a combo of fire and ground pokemon, whereas Kyogre will be water/grass.

The fact that we'll have 3 Dragon TAG TEAM in this expansion kinda scare me.It's too much TAG TEAM for a single type.

Especially for a type like Dragon which is hard to build for. Maybe that's why ...

The one from Unbroken Bonds. It makes sense because it counters Empoleon's snipe.

Oh and by the way... Groudon: ITS OVER ANAKIN. I HAVE THE HIGH GROUND!!!

For Empoleon's Recall, do you have to have the correct energy?

You have to have 1 colorless to use it - you do not have to have the energy the earlier evolution required.

No just the colourless to use the attack recall and it acts as any attack of its previous evolutions doing there effect. It was in the prerelease kits and is a pretty fun card to use

Could be a fun rogue deck then with Draw Energy or even Recycle Energy.

You got greedy. All you had to say was:

You underestimate the power of the dark tide.

Anyway, I'm actually looking forward to these Theme Decks, hoping one or both can topple Relentless Flames as the top Theme Format deck on the PTCGO... but also hoping they don't leave too many other decks behind as well. XP

But Relentless Flames isn't the de facto best...I've always thought Blastoise Team Up was the best, with Relentless Flames and Charizard Team Up right up there with it.
