‘Pocket Monsters’ Anime Officially Reveals Gou and New Composer

Following a leak on Friday, Pokemon has officially revealed the new Pocket Monsters poster and character designs.

Ash’s traveling companion is named Gou, a young boy who is just starting his Pokemon journey. His goal is to capture every Pokemon, including the Mythical Pokemon Mew, who he saw when he was a child. Gou usually has a calm demeanor but can also get intense. His Scorbunny is good at using attacks that involve kicking. Gou will be voiced by Daiki Yamashita.

In terms of the show’s staff, the most surprising change is that legendary composer Shinji Miyazaki will no longer be composing the music. He has written the score since the first episode in 1997, including the films. Perhaps he wanted to retire? Yuuki Hayashi will be taking over for him.

The first Pocket Monsters episode will air as a one-hour special on November 17th. We should get more information after this week’s episode.
