SM11 Mewtwo & Mew-GX, Espeon & Deoxys-GX, Umbreon & Darkrai-GX!

The Japanese Pokemon Card website has officially revealed SM11 Miracle Twins, which we first learned about several months ago.

The set will release on May 31st in Japan and will feature over 94 cards.

The booster box reveals Tapu Koko, Komala, and Liepard will be in the set.

Mewtwo & Mew-GX – Psychic – HP270
Basic Pokemon (Tag Team)

Ability: Perfection
This Pokemon can use the attacks of any Pokemon-GX and Pokemon-EX on your Bench or in your discard pile. (You still need the necessary Energy to use each attack.)

[P][P][C]+ Miracle Twin GX: 200 damage. If this Pokemon has at least 1 extra Energy attached to it (in addition to this attack’s cost), heal all damage from each of your Pokemon. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

When your TAG TEAM is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 3 Prize cards.

Weakness: Psychic (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

The Starter Set Decks for Espeon & Deoxys-GX and Umbreon & Darkrai-GX were also revealed. As posted before, they will release on May 31st and will feature one of the aforementioned Tag Team cards, damage counters, a GX marker, a coin, a playmat, and a player’s guide.

Espeon & Deoxys-GX – Psychic – HP260
Basic Pokemon (Tag Team)

[P][C][C] Psyco Circle: 10+ damage. This attack does 30 more damage times the number of Psychic Pokemon on your Bench.

[P][C][C] Cross Divide GX: Put 10 damage counters on your opponent’s Pokemon in any way you like. If this Pokemon has at least 3 extra Energy attached to it (in addition to this attack’s cost), put 20 damage counters instead. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

When your TAG TEAM is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 3 Prize cards.

Weakness: Psychic (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

Umbreon & Darkrai-GX – Darkness – HP270
Basic Pokemon (Tag Team)

[D][D][C] Black Lance: 150 damage. This attack does 60 damage to 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon-GX or Pokemon-EX. (Don’t apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokemon.)

[C]+ Dead Moon GX: Your opponent can’t play any Trainer cards from their hand during their next turn. If this Pokemon has at least 5 extra Darkness Energy attached to it (in addition to this attack’s cost), your opponent’s Active Pokemon is now Knocked Out. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

When your TAG TEAM is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 3 Prize cards.

Weakness: Psychic (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

A deluxe version will also be released. It will contain both 60-card decks, two holo promo cards (currently unknown), a double deck case, two coins, 34 acrylic damage counters, two GX markers, two sets of Poison and Burn markers, two playmats, and an instruction booklet.

Thanks goes to Tunu for the translations!

If that ends up being the main strategy we'll see people running Sudowoodo to counter it, I think.

I mean though with the espeon deoxys card all you have to do is bump the sky field with a parallel city and you have already cut the damage below half. But I do see what your saying especially with lele and garb counting towords damage.

This is so true. To be honest, I’d prefer a meta full of stall decks rather than our current.

Pokenerd and NaganadelIsBest, I couldn't agree more with you. I think Tag teams are destroying the game. Tag Teams turned Pokemon from a game of chess to a game of checkers. I don't know much about Magic, but am interested in learning more as I enjoy the mental fitness, and find Pokemon is becoming less and less about strategy and more and more about having that one clutch OP card. Tag Teams aren't even Power Creep, it's a full on leap.

Leavanny! It's been a hot minute since we've seen this one, just over 4 years now. I love seeing stuff like this happen, Pokemon that I like getting cards after so many years (Like the 5 and a half it took Darmanitan to get one again).

Seems like an amazing pairing with EggLet, ran similarly to CeleSaur. But sucks against fire.

If firs was not as dangerous as it is right now this would be a good tech in most leaf decks.

So much squandered potential :(. It breaks my heart to see Stage 2 Pokemon that don't contribute anything of real substance, even if it's for rogue decks.
