Normalium Z Tool Card Revealed! Any Pokemon With Tackle Can Use a GX Attack!

Now tons of Pokemon cards can use a GX attack, even those from Base Set! The first Z-Crystal has come to the TCG as a Pokemon Tool that can be used by any Pokemon with the move Tackle. This will allow the Pokemon to use Dash Attack GX!

[C] Tackle: 10 damage.

[R][C][C][C] Flamethrower: 80 damage. Discard 1 Energy from this Pokemon.

Weakness: Fire (x2)

Retreat: 4

Camerupt – Fire – HP140
Stage 1 – Evolves from Numel

[C][C] Tackle: 50 damage.

[R][C][C][C] Strong Flare: 150 damage. Discard 2 Energy from this Pokemon.

Normalium Z Tackle – Trainer

Pokemon Tool: Attach a Pokemon Tool to 1 of your Pokemon that doesn’t already have a Pokemon Tool attached to it.

If this card is attached to a Pokemon that has the attack Tackle, that Pokemon can use the GX attack on this card. (It must have the necessary Energy to use the attack.)

[C][C][C][C] Dash Attack GX: 200+ damage. Flip a coin until you get tails. This attack does 40 more damage for each heads. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

You may play as many Item cards as you like during your turn (before your attack).

The card opens so many gameplay possibilities! You can surprise your opponent out of nowhere. Let us know what you think below!

I wonder if we’ll get more Z-Crystal Tools in upcoming sets? And if this means Sword and Shield will continue to use Z-Crystals?

Sky Legend will release on April 25th. Thanks goes to Sean T. for the translations!

Recycle Energy? More like Retro Energy.

That would be a very confusing name for it, though.

(Are the Energy cards the only one preserving consistency across the entire TCG? Several Trainer cards have had their effects changed and/or the effects of some old Trainer cards have been completely reappropriated for a new Trainer card with a different name.)

Sylvally is incredibly mediocre, requiring CC and the decks that would enjoy using it the most (Tag Teams) don't have the space for additional evolution lines that are Guzma bait. Also only 180 damage from Tag Team KO is terrible, any other tag team previously setup consistently does damage as high.

Recycle Energy may find some use on stall decks, as the biggest conundrum for energy denial is not the energy going to graveyard, but negating your attaching for the turn and slowing down your setup. Any current deck worth existing at the moment has ways to recover energy, from Tapu Koko Prism to Naganadel to Malamar. Stall decks don't care as much about the turn slowdown, don't run pokemon that recover energy and also happen to (at times) use Mt Coronet plus Steel Energy to recover it after energy denial is used, so this works for them.

Faba also gets somewhat less niche.

Both cards seem pretty good. Recycle Energy seems like a nice card to ensure you'll always have energy. Silvally seems like a really strong tech that can be easily put into Tag Team GX decks that use DCE.

Silvally - First Attack is nice but it probably won't OHKO the Pokemon that took the prize cards as it only does 130 if a GX is knocked out or 180 if a Tag Team is knocked out, with neither figures being enough to KO anything realistically, unless used as a revenge killer on an already damaged GX or Tag Team. Another problem is that it's a Stage 1 and that it's inclusion in your deck takes up to a minimum of two cards.

Recycle Energy - Maybe I'm missing something but there's seemingly no real point to this as it only provides a single colorless energy and a lot of decks can get specific type energy back to their hands from the discard pile anyway, and not only that, a fair few of them can get more than one back at a time.

Recycle Energy is absolutely insane! Can’t believe they brought it back after almost 20 freaking years!

1 colorless energy is trash. Even if it can't get hammered it likely won't even provide you energy! It's really only Zoro that could use this. Also when they hammer it they put it in your hand! It still unattaches!

Silvally would be good if we memory's were for non GX silvs as well. It does 2 shot damage for expensive energy. (Even with TCE)

Trust me, Recycle Energy is anything but trash.

This is going to make ZoroControl at Worlds mirrors either unbearable or a Zoroark slugfest.

And yes, it does unattach, but this gives decks that can heavily lean on it extended longevity for late game. Which is especially crazy if the deck has an explosive early and mid-game, but struggles late game. Recycle Energy can probably fix that issue.

Unfortunately, the Memory cards only work for Silvally GX, not regular. We’ve seen this attack also on Machamp GRI, and we saw how well that worked. It’s not too good, but it can do 170 for a DCE in a pinch.
Recycle Energy, looks cool. That’d go well in Gardevoir GX decks.

Oh my god yes! This card is gonna make so many lock decks possible!

Silvally could be a good counter to PikaRom after it uses Tag Bolt GX and takes 4-5 prizes. doing 230-280 damage. Able to KO a PikaRom. Just got to be careful with the prize trade.

Also recycle energy...I don;t have much though on what this could be useful for. Maybe decks that go up against Stall decks and such.

I wonder if we'll get a Stadium card that putd itself into your hand from being discarded.

Recycle energy could be used to pay retreat for free essentially, especially with the new Porygon Z.

U just said what i was about to write. Recycle energy means 1 cost now is a ''technical'' zero, while 2 cost retreats can be satisfied with Skate (zorowhat??). Porygon Z will shine next months, I've no doubts about it. It will open some nice loops, for example, having your hypothetical big hitter with 2 recycles and 1DCE, and no problems if you lose it coz energies are going to come back to you anyways... Of course this scenario gets better at late game, when you probably would have drawn 3 or 4 recycles.

Recycle energy could be used like propogation exeggcute in zororark but I don't see any other purpose.

Porygon z will be a tier 3 deck at best and may prove itself to be too clunky, probable one of the worst decks coming from unbroken bonds
