Shiny GX, Lycanroc-GX from ‘GX Ultra Shiny;’ Worldwide Card Legality Coming!

The official Japanese Pokemon Card website has revealed several cards that will be included in GX Ultra Shiny! The set will release in Japan on November 2nd.

New cards revealed include “shiny” or “super” secret rares (SSRs) of Zygarde-GX, Rayquaza-GX, and Charizard-GX that feature the Pokemon’s shiny coloring over unique white backgrounds. One shiny GX will automatically be included in each booster box.

Presumably there will be a shiny rare for every GX shown on the set’s booster pack. Rayquaza-GX is #240/150, so there will at least be 90 secret rares. (Yikes!) They probably won’t have the usual real-world rarity of secret rares, as this would make it impossible to collect them all. As posted a while ago, each booster pack will include one GX, so this is probably how they’ll make it easier for fans to collect them all.

A new Lycanroc-GX (in its Dusk Form) and Wonder Labyrinth Prism Star Stadium were also revealed! Lycanroc-GX will be included in our February Team Up set. Thanks goes to Bangiras for the translations!

Lycanroc-GX – Fighting – HP200
Stage 1 – Evolves from Rockruff

Ability: Twilight Eye
When you play this card from your hand to evolve a Pokemon during your turn, you may discard an Energy from your opponent’s Active Pokemon.

[F][C][C] Accelerock: 120 damage.

[F] Radial Edge GX: 30x damage. This attack does 30 damage times the number of Energy cards in your opponent’s discard pile. (You can’t use more than 1 GX attack in a game.)

When your Pokemon-GX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Weakness: Grass (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

Wonder Labyrinth Prism Star – Trainer
Stadium

You can’t have more than 1 Prism Star card with the same name in your deck. If a Prism Star card would go to the discard pile, put it in the Lost Zone instead.

Each player’s Pokemon (excluding [Y] Pokemon) pays [C] more to use its attacks.

As long as this Stadium is in play, whenever a player uses an Item or Supporter card from their hand, prevent all effects of those cards done to this Stadium.

This card stays in play when you play it. Discard this card if another Stadium card comes into play. If another card with the same name is in play, you can’t play this card.

The rest of the revealed cards are straight-up reprints of earlier cards or alternate art versions that we’ve already received in America. We know these aren’t the only GX that will be in the set, as shiny Espeon-GX, Ho-Oh-GX, Stakataka-GX, and more are on the booster pack.

The reprinted cards use the “A” or “B” from their original sets, confirming the theory that this will be the way Japan specifies which cards will be legal in the future. This also means Japan and America will soon have synced legalities!

As posted a while ago, GX Ultra Shiny will also feature new full art versions of Cynthia and Guzma. There will also be new Supporter cards for Subway Bosses Ingo & Emmet as well as Battle Chatelaine.
