Clearer Images of Dragonite-GX, Reshiram-GX, Salamence-GX, Articuno-GX!

An HD version of SM6’s commercial has now been released, revealing clearer images of Dragonite-GX and Reshiram-GX from SM6a Dragon Storm and Salamence-GX and Articuno-GX from SM6b Champion Road. Thanks goes to Bangiras for the partial translations!

Dragon Storm will be released in Japan on April 6th. Champion’s Road will be released on May 3rd.

Dragonite-GX – Dragon – HP250
Stage 2 – Evolves from Dragonair

[L] Dragon Claw: 70 damage.

[W][L][C][C] Giga Impact: 200 damage. This Pokemon can’t attack during your next turn.

[C][C][C] Dragonporter GX: ??? damage. Effect unreadable, but looks like it moves Dragonite to the Bench before doing damage. (You can’t use more than 1 unreadable GX attack in a game.)

When your Pokemon-GX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Weakness: Dairy (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: At least 1.

Reshiram-GX – Fire – HP180
Basic Pokemon

[C] Flame Charge: Search your deck for a basic [R] Energy card and attach it to this Pokemon. Then, shuffle your deck.

[R][R][R][C] Scorching Pillar: 110 damage. Effect unreadable.

[R][R][R][C] Vermilion GX: 180 damage. Effect unreadable. (You can’t use more than 1 unreadable GX attack in a game.)

When your Pokemon-GX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Weakness: Water (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

Salamence-GX – Dragon – HP250
Stage 2 – Evolves from Shelgon

Ability: Dragon Guard
Effect unreadable, but probably protects Dragon Pokemon in some way, like turning off their Weakness to ice cream.

[R][W][C][C] Bright Flame: 200 damage? Discard 2 Energy from this Pokemon? Salamence ex has the same attack.

[R][C][C] Flame Flight GX: No damage. Effect unreadable. (You can’t use more than 1 unreadable GX attack in a game.)

When your Pokemon-GX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Weakness: Dairy (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: At least 1.

Articuno-GX – Water – HP170
Basic Pokemon

Ability: Legendary Ascent
If it’s the same as Articuno ex: When you play this Pokemon to your Bench, you may switch your Active Pokemon with this Pokemon. If you do, you may also move any number of basic [W] Energy cards attached to your Pokemon to this Pokemon.

[W][W][C] Ice Wing: 120 damage.

[W] Cold Crush GX: The one on Articuno ex read, “You may discard an Energy card attached to Articuno ex. If you do, your opponent discards an Energy card attached to the Defending Pokemon.” However, unlike Articuno ex’s attack, Articuno-GX’s does no damage, so it won’t be the same. It’ll probably be some souped-up effect inspired by the original attack, like discarding all Energy from your opponent’s Pokemon in play or something.

When your Pokemon-GX is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards.

Weakness: Metal (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

No wonder Articuno-GX has similar artwork as Articuno ex, it’s inspired by the same card! The same applies to Salamence-GX and Salamence ex: similar artwork, a similar attack as the original.

Thus, all GX cards in Champion Road will probably be inspired by their Pokemon ex cards from the EX Ruby & Sapphire era. Which Pokemon ex do you want to come back as Pokemon-GX? The booster pack artwork hints at some of them.
