I found this Pokemon Tamagotchi thing on my bargain hunting this Koninginnedag. (Dutch festival. Google it.)

The back says 2005 Nintendo/Pokemon, 2004 Bandai, Made in China, 01217. I looked online for some information on it, but I couldn't find a single reference to it. If anyone knows what this is, please tell me. I'm desperate to know what it is!

RE: What the hell is this thing?

I think it was, lovebunny. I think I saw that on Amazon.com once as an imported item. Japanese merchandise finds its way to the US and European countries quite regularly nowadays. Several months ago I bought a Shaymin movie plush off a collector's site, complete with Japanese tags and packaging. It's not uncommon to see some English text too for the copyright info, but that's usually about it. If there's anything more than that in any language (besides Japanese), then I'm at a loss as to where it came from...

In any case, Tamagotchi is a very widespread thing (encompassing many different series and franchises), so you shouldn't be too surprised to have come across this, mollycarroll. If you look around, you might find more things like it.

Here is an auction for 2 they are pricey.

apollo is probably right. It really looks like a tamagotchi. I only remember the old pikachu one though and this is definately not it (for one it had treecko in one of the pictures, plus it looks a lot newer).

This is it! Except mine's a pokeball (Note different colouration.)
$35?! Heh, mine was one euro. ;^^

Thank you!

RE: What the hell is this thing?

Call it what you will, Digipets are still Digipets. Well, not really, but my dad's been teasing me about these types of gadgets since the Pokewalker came out with the HGSS games back in March.

Still, Cyber Ultra Balls were supposed to be exclusive to Japan and other Asian countries, so there's no doubt it was an imported item. But you picked it up for just one Euro?! Holy cow, that's still just a few bucks in the US (give or take...I haven't been playing much attention to the exchange rate lately, but I think the US dollar is still a lot weaker than the Euro)! Really, what a deal!

They were, apparently, sold in the UK at some point in time.

And they're £7.99 new on ebay.

I've got one....but mine's an Ultra Ball (well I've got 2 of them)
It's like a Digimon.

RE: What the hell is this thing?

I had one. I accidently broke it though, I overthrew it. :(
I live in the UK so that is correct.

I've seen it before, though I don't exactly know what it is. If I didn't know it opened I would mistake it as a Pokeball and throw it around. :p

Looks like an old school Pokewalker. (If they made them a long time ago. xD)

It's neat seeing what they sell in Europe.

Is it just me or do all the really good Pokemon items go to Europe? I don't know...I only just got back into buying and collecting Pokemon merchandise, and most of it's second-hand stuff from the RBY/GSC eras that I just happened to come across in thrift stores. Aside from Ebay, it seems like most Pokemon stuff is only sold on either Amazon.com or collector's sites, or available only to countries outside the US.

Oh my gosh! You are one lucky person. that's a Cyber Pokeball, or as someone else said there was a Cyber Ultra Ball variation. It's an entire game of Pokemon set in Hoenn, shrunk down into a digipet. You have a party of three, eight gyms and the E4, connection, battling and everything. However, you have a random-roulette style attack system and wild Pokemon are found after you 'search' an area (no walking about). There weren't any Centers either, Pokemon were automatically healed after each battle. Handy! :D

I had the Ultra Ball, I saved up $35 AU for it when I was six. Proudest money achievement of my life! :'3 I was pretty darn mad when my mum gave it to the second-hand store without my permission when it was SEVEN YEARS OLD AND STILL IN WORKING CONDITION... Not to forget my aforementioned metaphysical attachment to it. Raged for a week >:I

Well shoot, now we know.

Too bad no one has cared for two years.
