Yeah. What kind of a gym leader you'd want to be, and what type and what Pokemon would you use and how would your gym look like? Just overall conversation about it. And tell more personal choices, not just like 'yeah, I'd use that Meditite and dat Medicham kick butt yo'. xD

Please move if it's the wrong place :D

I'd probably want to be a grass type leader, and I'd use a badass shiny Meganium. And beat the crap out of my every challenger. xD My gym would be like a maze on jungle trees filled with Ace Trainers. :D

RE: What kind of a Gym Leader would you be?

Ok :D This thread can be deleted if it's too similiar. xD

RE: What kind of a Gym Leader would you be?

I'd be a Steel Type Gym (The last gym in the region), it would be a factory and I'd be the boss and you'd have to move around on platforms.

My team-

Metang lv 48
(Psychic, Iron Claw, Iron Defense, Meteor Mash)

Scizor lv.48
(X- Scizor, Bullet Punch, Agility, Slash)

Klinklang lv.48
(Lock On, Thunder Wave, Zap Cannon, Gear Grind)

Registeel lv.50
(Charge Beam, Iron Head, Thunder Punch, Ice Punch)

Gives out TM Iron Head and Metal Badge when defeated.

RE: What kind of a Gym Leader would you be?

I think this thread is different enough, this one gives us the freedom to choose.

If I had to be a gym leader:

Type: Dragon
Gym ranking: 1st in the region
Pokemon on team: Bagon, Deino
Moves: Bagon: Incinerate Leer Rage Deino: Incinerate Astonish Tackle
Puzzle: maze of dragon statues, click on the real statue (it would be a random dragon-type) to wake it up and move it out of the way so you can fight the gym leader. Nothing complicated, after you beat the E4 you can actually fight the random intractable dragon-type (it would be lv 50 or something)
Gym design: Has wild grass inside so you can find wild pokemon, there's also an indoor pond that you can surf and fish in. the wild pokemon are lv 5~10

I think dragon is a good 1st gym since it resists all 3 starter types and gives new people an idea of what it's like to be at such a disadvantage.

Quotes:

Before Battle:
Like the gym? It's calm and tranquil, how ironic right? You see, when people here dragon, they think evil, ferocious, and destructive *shakes head*. I see them as peaceful yet powerful creatures. Are you ready to see the balance between peace and power?

After Sending out Last Pokemon:
It's all or nothing now. Don't get cocky kid!

During battle:
Balance isn't infinite, sometimes the scale will tip in someone's favor... My favor.

After Battle:
You won! You comanded your pokemon with kindness and in return you were rewarded with victory. Take the Sentinel Badge.

After Being defeated:
With the Sentinel Badge, pokemon received in trades up to lv.20 will obey your every command. Also, take this TM: It's Dragon Claw, a powerful dragon-type move, you'll make better use of it than I would.

RE: What kind of a Gym Leader would you be?

I'd be an Electric type gym leader, of course, with an emphasis on Speed and power. My gym puzzles would be something hi tech, I had an idea for one where you have to use conveyor belts to move around which you can control the direction of based on the way certain wires are connected. I'd also prefer a late game spot, somewhere around 5th-8th. This is what my team would be like:

Electrode
Jolteon
Galvantula
Zebstrika

RE: What kind of a Gym Leader would you be?

Well, I like this idea.

My GYM type would be Psychic and a Double Battle Style.

I would be #8.

Puzzle: 6 levels, each one consisting of an open area with Unknow looking tiles on the floor, and you have to follow the ones that are the same, and if you don't then you fall through the floor and have to battle someone to get back out. Then the tiles reset in a different order.

My Team would consist of:

Alakazam Lvl: 46
Psychic
Thunderpunch
Foresight
Dream Eater

Hypno Lvl: 45
Hypnosis
Dream Eater
Psyshock
Psychic

Xatu Lvl: 44
Dream Eater
Fly
Hypnosis
Psywave

Gothitelle Lvl: 45
Psychic
Psyshock
Shadow Ball
Telekinesis

Gardevoir Lvl: 47
Psychic
Heal Pulse
Reflect
Light Screen

Gallade Lvl: 48
Psycho Cut
Drain Punch
Night Slash
Ice Punch

Challenge Quote: I have seen your coming, but not your leaving.
Super Effective: I should have seen that coming.
Last 2 (If Gardevoir and Gallade) Pokemon: Now prepare to face my strongest pair.
Last 2 (If not those two) Pokemon: I should have known that my pair would not make it.
Final Pokemon: I see the end coming.
Low HP: I can see the light now.
Beaten: I see now that you were destined to win. Now, take this TM29, it contains one of my favorite moves, Psychic.
Won: I see now that you were not destined to win today.

Rematch: All levels are increased by 20.

RE: What kind of a Gym Leader would you be?

Gotta remember what a Gym Leaders job is though, guys.
Using appropriately low level pokemon for your challengers (you are not supposed to use a lv100 pseudo-legend and beat the crap out of challengers who jsut started their journey and have 2 Pokémon in the ~20s) and not winning all the time (if you don't hand out badges, no one gets to E4, and then the whole system is pointless).
Also probably in charge of the puzzle and look of your gym.

I'll write my actual post later.

RE: What kind of a Gym Leader would you be?

I'd have a Ground sand-based team. I'd be the 6th in the region.

The puzzle would be navigating an old ruin with 5 floors. There are 3 doors on each floor. 2 of them contain a trainer, and 1 of them has a sand pit that lets the challenger fall through to the next floor. Eventually they get to the Gym Leader.

Fairy gym:
the gym would be set in a maze; it would have yellow and pink coloring, and occasionly there would be sparkle showers. However, these sparkle showers would transport the player to a random spot in the maze. Occasionally the sparkle showers would bring a trainer.
would be 5th gym
team: (will edit as we get more fairy types)
Gardevoir lv.30
-Psybeam
-Draining Kiss
-Wish
-Calm Mind

Azumarill lv.30
-Draining Kiss
-Bubblebeam

give out the Fae Badge and the TM for Draining Kiss.

RE: What kind of a Gym Leader would you be?

Gym would be filled with snow, have "snow igloos", 40% of them housing a trainer, the rest being connected by tunnels.

As 8th gym, or appropriately scaled down for lower spots.

Shoot, frogot my battle quotes

Before battle: Welcome to my factory. The name's Reggie, and if you want my precious Metal Badge you'll have to go through me first.
First hit: Not bad, but I hope you know that Steel Pokemon can always pull through!
Last Pokemon (If Registeel): You are doing well, but here comes my wildcard! Go, Registeel!
Last Pokemon (If not Registeel: Well, it all comes down to this!
Low HP: Well, this will be intresting one way or another.
Win: Nice try, but you're a little rusty. Come back when you are better.
Lose: What? How!
End of battle lose: Good job, here's what you earned, the Metal Badge. You know what, because you did so well, you can have one of my favorite moves: Iron Head. It can cause flinching if you are lucky. Well, see you later!

Ugh quotes:

Before Battle: Long time no see! When we first met, I was merely using newborn pokemon that I just bred. This time I'll show you my real all stars!

After Sending Out Last Pokemon:
This is all I have left...

During Battle:
This can go either way. Keep your eyes peeled for this next move.

After Battle:
We can't win all the time. I'll take this as a life lesson.

After Being Defeated:
...I may have lost, but you know what? The best thing I got from this battle was the chance to fight with my pokemon again. Come back again anytime!

I might do Rematch later, but that will take a while

RE: What kind of a Gym Leader would you be?

I'd definitely be an Ice Gym Leader, having an ice palace look to the gym itself. Inside would be a very Nordic or Russian looking area, with puzzles involving trivia (because I know just how much everyone adores those.) There would be five questions to be answered correctly, pertaining to the battle that the trainer has just fought. After the five questions, the trainer would be brought by a boat (probably a viking boat), to the gym leader's area, made to look like a throne room.

I'd probably be sixth or seventh gym having just about three pokemon.
The first would be a Seel then a Glaceon and then a Glalie.

RE: What kind of a Gym Leader would you be?

087.gif

I'd be a Multi-typed Heavy hitting gym leader.
I would be near the end of the Gym's 7,8th or even a member of the elite four.

As a special part to the gym, there would be two different paths, One where there is no trainers but you create an item embargo for yourself or a path with 3 different trainers and the gym leader becomes affected by an item embargo.

RE: What kind of a Gym Leader would you be?

Well, mostly I'd be a Fire-type Gym Leader! My gym would be named (if that was possible) Blazing Haven, and I would have a team of three including a Lvl. 35 Heatmor, a Level 35 Arcanine, and a Level 38 Darmanitan. I'd be the sixth Gym Leader.

Battle Quotes:

BEFORE BATTLE - "Now, it shall be me who battles you! ...Or is it the other way around?"

AFTER 1ST NON-KO HIT - "Not bad! I'll have you in flames though!

FINAL POKEMON - "Am I the one who will go down in the blaze? No!

FINAL POKEMON AT LOW HP - This is NOT good. Come on!

WIN - Bwahaha! I knew I'd have you in the blaze.

LOSE - I can't... believe it.

AFTER LOSING - Oh well. You showed me a good fight, I'll give you this TM Incinerate. See ya!

Rematch 1:

Level 55 Heatmor [Incinerate, Fire Spin, Flame Burst, Bug Bite]
Level 57 Arcanine [Fire Fang, Flame Burst, Reversal, Retaliate]
Level 59 Darmanitan [Flare Blitz, Overheat, Superpower, Fire Punch]

Level 89 Arcanine [Flare Blitz, Heat Wave, Fire Fang, Outrage]
Level 91 Darmanitan [Work Up, Superpower, Overheat, Fire Punch]
Level 90 Simisear [Same moves as Rematch 1]
Level 88 Charizard [Flamethrower, Wing Attack, Dragon Claw, Flare Blitz]
Level 93 Infernape [Mach Punch, Flame Wheel, Close Combat, Flare Blitz]

RE: What kind of a Gym Leader would you be?

I love your ideas guys, keep it up! Bear in mind though, some are pretty OP considering you're only gym leaders. ;D

RE: What kind of a Gym Leader would you be?

My gym would consist of fire balls going across the gym and the people would have to dodge them.
My team would consist of:
lv 56 Ho-Oh
lv 55 Charizard
lv 54 Volcarona
lv 54 Rapidash
lv 54 Houndoom
lv 54 Flareon

I would be like the strongest gym leader ever.
