What Are Full Arts and Half Arts?

I'm seeing a lot of people refering to cards as half art and full art and such. Can someone explain what is meant by this?

Full arts are cards whose art takes up the entirity of the card, rather than just the image window and its immediate surroundings.

The cards commonly referred to as "half arts" (not sure they actually have an official name) are similar to full arts, but are exclusive to non-EX cards that have Ancient Traits, and a part of their art is typically solid-colour, rather than art filling the entire card as in a Full Art.

Moved this thread from the TCG Competitive Play to the TCG Help & Advice as the OP is asking a general TCG question.

In addition to what RiverShock said:

Half Arts are officially known as "Ancient Traits" or "ATs". Also, you may see "Full Arts" abbreviated as "FA".

Also, Full Arts come in two main types - the ultra rare varieties and promo varieties. Ultra rare varieties (a FA EX , a FA Stadium or a FA Supporter) will always have a holosheet and generally feature texture unique to the Full Art. There also Ultra Rares, meaning they are worth much more than your typical card. Promo varieties are FA cards that are not an EX, Stadium or Supporter as listed above and are currently exclusive to some promos.

No, that's just a regular art card. Full art has the artwork take up the entire card, literally. The Charizard-EX that RiverShock linked to is an example.
