Chapter 1
He waited, his muscles tense underneath the night-black fur. His eyes glinted like rubies, reflecting the colorful sunset in the far west. His long delicate legs stood firmly and alertly atop the rock. The bright yellow rings on his body glowed in the still of evening. Every now and then he would flick his long tail impatiently around, but that was the only part he moved. It was his duty to wait.
Silvernight was a special Umbreon. He had been exiled from his home many years ago; his duty now was to heal the wounded hearts. Silvernight had helped many broken spirits before, and every one of his missions was unique in a way. He had first heard of the 15-year-old girl in the lush depths of the forest. He heard that 5 years ago her house burned down from a flash of lightning while her family was inside it. She lost all of her possessions except for a small golden locket that she always carried.

“Why”. This is the question Alexandria asked herself everyday. “Why” “Why me”. Alexandria was a 15 years old girl that tragically lost her family in a fire. She had long light brown hair that went down to her elbows, and olive eyes that matched autumn grass. Her legs were skinny, but very agile. Her arms were as well very thin, but very strong. She was neither fat nor thin, but perfect size. Alexandria stood around 5 feet tall and still growing. She wore a bright red t-shirt and faded jeans, her shoes were torn past the rubber and her socks looked 30 years old.
Her family had once lived in the middle of the forest, at least 40 miles from civilization. Alex lived off berries and herbs from the forest surrounding her, for company she had the wild pokemon. She had once tried to walk into town, but was far too weak to go the rest of the way. Since her family lived far away from people no one knew of the fire.

Silvernight stood alert atop the rock, for what he had heard it sounded like the girl came to this part of the forest at a certain time. He was becoming impatient, but for some strange reason he felt as if this one shall be worth the wait. Darkness would be here soon for the night pokemon were coming out to play and the sky had gone from a bright blue to a blood-red shade. Other pokemon taunted him to move from the rock. Murkrow were pecking at his tail and Spinarak hung down from the lush trees and played with his ears. Ignoring the taunts, Midnight gazed at one spot as if he were a statue.
          _______________________________________________
It was about 7:00 pm and Alex would soon go to her special spot in the forest only a half a mile from her ruined home. Tonight felt special for some reason, she felt as if something wonderful would happen. Alexandria fingered her golden locket that her parents gave to her on her tenth birthday. She opened the locket slowly and read the words engraved on one side of the locket. The words read Life is what you make it, make yours worth living for. On the other side of the locket was a picture of her and an Umbreon. Umbreon had also been a birthday present, except then it was only a small little Eevee. She raised the Eevee with love until one day he evolved into Umbreon.
Alexandria rose from the ground where her gorgeous house used to be and started to sprint toward her secret spot. There she played with the pokemon that came out at night, the pokemon were her only friends and she loved them just as she had loved her Umbreon. Umbreon left her life in an equally tragic way as her parents. She and Umbreon always used to play games in the forest like hide and seek and tag. When they were playing tag one night Alex fell into a river and at that time she could not swim well, so Umbreon jumped in to save her and although she was saved he drifted down river and was never found.

It was now quarter past 7 and still no sign of the girl. By this time the pokemon gave up their taunting and went back to playing. Silvernight was just about to leave when he heard a slight rustling sound behind the trees. Then he saw her, the girl Alexandria. At first she had a rough entry she stumbled over the bushes and landed on her hands. She was an interesting girl, one worth helping.
              _____________________________________________
Alex landed hard on her hands but quickly recovered from her fall. Only when she looked up she didn’t see the usual bustle of pokemon, she saw a single Umbreon. It had been 7 years since she has seen an Umbreon and she did not want to scare it off. “I will not harm you” spoke Alex softley to the Umbreon. “ Don’t run away”. He was beautiful. His coat was as black as night itself and his eyes looked unreal. The rings on his body glowed eerily in the moonlight, it was a magical moment. Alex slowly crept toward the Umbreon barely breathing.
              ______________________________________________
Why was she acting like this? She acted like Silvernight was sacred. Silvernight remained in his position despite the girl’s behavior. He glared into her olive eyes as if looking into her future. He cautiously took one step off the rock. Slowly he got all fours on the ground and was making his way toward the girl. Now the girl was completely stopped in her tracks like there was an invisible wall in her path. He stopped when he was no more than 2 feet away from the girl.
              _______________________________________________
Alex started to get up off the ground when halfway up the Umbreon stopped her. Her eyes met his and this was a moment she knew would not easily be forgotten. Shockingly, he let out a shrill cry and his body was shrouded in a light-blue mist. She reached out for him when she felt a coldness run through her body. She doubled over and gasped for air. Alex was not in pain, but the sudden coldness sent her into shock.
              ___________________________________________
Silvernight knew the girl would not like the process, but it must be done in order for them to communicate. The mist would allow them to communicate through telepathy. Silvernight called off the mist and glanced down at her. Her face was now pale and he could tell she was scared. “Get up, you will be fine after a few minutes Silvernight spoke to her as if she was his sister.
              ____________________________________________
Alex looked around wondering who had spoken to her. She then looked at Umbreon and realized he was the one who had spoken. His voice sounded like an angel’s.
“How did you speak to me”?
“We are communicating through telepathy” Umbreon paused “It will only work for three days though”.
“So that’s what the mist was”
“Yes, my name is Silvernight and I will help you realize the truth.”
“Realize the truth”? There was a slight stinge in her voice.
“You must realize that there is more to your life than you think, and I will help you discover the secrets” Silvernight paused again pondering on where to start. “We haven’t much time we must hurry”
              ____________________________________________
Silvernight and Alexandria sprinted back to her destroyed home, but Alexandria was about to get a blast from her past.

Chapter 2
__________________________________________________________
Alex couldn’t believe it, she was once again running side by side with an Umbreon! She didn’t go the usual way home, instead she and Silvernight took the long way home. She paused at the river where she had fallen in; a shiver ran up her spine and a cloud of despair formed over her. She asked Silvernight to stop for a second and she cautiously made her way to the exact spot where she fell in. She murmured to herself “I wish I could see Umbreon one more time”
              ____________________________________________
Silvernight accidently overheard Alexandria and began to feel sorry for the girl. He called upon another special power he possessed. He thought to himself “please do not feel sad”
              ____________________________________________
A wave of purple suddenly covered the area and the scenery started to melt into a different part of the forest. Alex looked up and saw her and Umbreon running together! She recognized this scene. It was 6 years ago when Umbreon was still alive. She stared blankly at the memory and for a moment thought this was at the present time. Alexandria fell to her knees and started to weep.
              _____________________________________________
Silvernight, shocked by her emotions, stepped back in surprise. Out of sorrow he went up to Alex and gave her a gentle lick on her hand to let her know he was there. Silvernight sat down next to the girl to comfort her. He knew how it felt to lose a loved one. “I will let no one harm you, not ever,” Silvernight muttered to himself. “You are safe”
Alexandria’s face was red from the crying and her eyes burned, but with Silvernight by her side the sorrow that hung above her disappeared. “You are the only friend I’ve really ever had” Alex stated to Silvernight. “I will never let anyone take you away”. In moments the scene was over and the forest faded back to how it was before. Was this all a dream? Alexandria questioned herself. Is this real?
              _____________________________________________
Silvernight, recovering from the girls memories, remembered why he was with her and reminded Alex of their task. “We must go, for daylight will be here in a matter of hours”. “At this time intrusions can not be tolerated”.
              _______________________________________________
Alex took one last glimpse at the river and then followed Silvernight into the darkness of the forest. Alex knew her life would never be the same again. Together side-by-side Alex raced through the forest with Silvernight, almost having no care in the world except for being with Silvernight. On the way they spotted many different kinds of pokemon. Flying Noctowls, racing Poochyenas, and even a couple of playing Misdreavus. Thoughts raced through her mind, like what kind of secrets are there in my family? Where did Silvernight come from? Maybe the questions would soon be answered.
             _________________________________________________
When they got to the house there wasn’t as much left as Silvernight would have hoped. All there were was ashes, dust, and an occasional broken picture frame. Silvernight did not know how a girl like herself could live through the harsh winters and scorching summers. There had to be some sort of clue, some kind of sign that what he was looking for was here.

Silvernight once thought that he had been to this house before the fire, but he could not remember. He felt a strange connection to the girl, like he had known her for years. What was making him think like this? His mission was to heal the girl, not make friends with her.
         _____________________________________________
As Alex and Silvernight searched through the rubble, she started to feel tears in her eyes again. When Alex started to step away from the horrible memories, she spotted a vibrant orange item out of the corner of her eye. She picked the object up carefully and recognized it right away. It was the Spirit Stone. The stone was a perfect oval shape, and the glow it emitted made it seem like an ocean of orange flames danced inside the stone and around the stone. Alex remembered her grandfather telling her about it, he said it contains the spirits of the guardian pokemon of the past, but only in the presence of a true heir of the guardians could it be seen. She wasn’t sure if she believed her grandfather, if the stone contained their spirits why did they not protect them from the fire. Alex did not know why she had not seen it before; she only looked through the mess a thousand times. She looked up to tell Silvernight but he was not there, she looked down at the rock and it had disappeared! Alex looked all around her and spotted Silvernight scrounging through some gravel to her far right. She crept closer to him and the rock started to materialize in her hands!
           _____________________________________________
Silvernight heard the young girl gasp and turned around to see what had been discovered. When he saw what the fuss was all about, he too straightened up in shock. Silvernight bounded over to the girl to make sure that was it. It was.
“Please give me the stone, I need it now”
Alex recollected her thoughts, “What for” she questioned.
“There is no time to explain, we are wasting time” “time is of the essence now”
Silvernight snatched the precious stone from her hand and trotted over to a door where the garden used to be. All that was left of the door was part of its arch. He placed the Spirit Stone in its graceful symmetry and stood back. It took only two minutes before the arch of the door rebuilt and the entry way looked like an overly lighted stage. Silvernight was eager to go through, for on the other side was the most beautiful place in the world. Dragon Song.
            ______________________________________________
Alex could only stare at the door, for she feared that if she blinked it and Silvernight would disappear. Alex watched Silvernight cautiously step through the door, in a few seconds he was on the other side of whatever it was. Alex slowly made her way toward the arch; she looked around in case she never came back. When she got to the arch, she realized it made a soft, low humming sound like it was from a futuristic movie. The Spirit Stone now gave off a blinding light and she was forced to look away. Alex put one hand through the door and got her whole body through in a matter of thirty seconds.
            ________________________________________________
Silvernight waited patiently, now he would not have to rush everything, they were through the Spirit Door. The Spirit Door was only open every 500 years, and the door would have closed this midnight. He felt a strange sense of relief, usually he was always alert and never relaxed. He hadn’t been to Dragon Song in a long time. Dragon Song was not his home, but close enough.
            ______________________________________________
Shaking, Alex got to the other side untouched. She fell to the ground expecting Silvernight to tell her to get up, but he didn’t. When Alex got up she was stunned by it’s beauty, it looked like something that should be in a fairy tale. The grass was a lush green color and was as soft as a pillow not one brown blade. To her right was a small crystal clear lake that looked to pure for human eyes. To her left was a huge plateau with grass covering its top, and less than quarter of a mile in front of her was a monstrous waterfall.

Chapter 3

The plains seemed to be endless. It was teeming with life, Bellossom danced in the sunlight, Rapidash raced across the grass like lightning, and Flygon soared through the skies without worry. Flowers of all different colors sprinkled the ground like pixie dust. Alex sighed with passion as the pokemon played. Nothing could ruin this moment.
            _________________________________________________
Silvernight saw that Alex too was infatuated by its' beauty. Though he also wished to stay and gaze in wonder, there was a task to fulfill. He would take Alex to the White Ocean where she would meet the Spirit Master. Then from there, her life was in the Master's hands. She would need all the blessings she could get to complete the mission she was destined for. "Alex, we must go"
           _________________________________________________

Alex looked over at Silvernight in confusion.
"What?"
"We must get away from here, there is someone whom you must see"
"Who?" Alex's voice was full of curiosity.
"Someone" Silvernight restated firmly, but not unkindly.
Alex slowly got up from the pillow soft grass and waited for Silvernight's orders. He went forward a few steps, and turned left towards the plateau. Alex sullenly followed. Silvernight quickened his pace and she was forced to as well to keep up until she was walking next to him.

           __________________________________________________

Silvernight glanced at Alex, who he could tell was not pleased to be moving again. The White Ocean was a two days travel away, and their telepathy would only have but two days left at sunset. He would miss talking to the girl.
           _________________________________________________

Alex watched in pleasure as she saw yet more pokemon at play. She gazed up and wished she could fly like the pokemon in the sky. Seeing the world from that point of view, it must be amazing. Then it dawned on her that she did not even know what this fantasy land was called.
"Silvernight"
"Yes"
"What is this placed called?"
"Dragon Song"
"Why do they call it that, I don't see that many dragon pokemon around?"
"I will tell you why when we camp tonight" "You ask a lot of questions,” Silvernight stated with a chuckle.
Alex continued to walk along side Silvernight, who was now heading into a sprint. She also sped up to a sprint, in seconds, they were running across the plains at full speed.

It felt good to run just for the fun of it; it gave him a spirited feeling inside. A feeling that made him feel like he could lift off the ground any second and soar through the sky with the flying pokemon. His heart lifted in jubilation, he felt as if would never grow tired. As if he could run with the girl forever.

         __________________________________________________
After what seemed like hours, Silvernight and Alex slowed to a stop and caught their breath. That was the best she had felt in such a long time, it revived her soul and body. They collapsed on the soft green grass in a field of flowers, both laughing. They took long deep breaths and sighed. Finally claming down, Alex asked Silvernight about Dragon Song.
“You said you would tell me why the call this place Dragon Song”
“I did, didn’t I”
“Yeah”
“Well, on account that it’s almost sundown, this will be our campsite. Alright, I’ll tell you” “Over 100,000 years ago, a beautiful plain lay here, it looked almost identical to what it is now” Pokemon and people lived here, in harmony, never harming another.” Silvernight paused “Until they came” His voice trailed off.
“Who came” Alex asked with great curiosity.
“The Hunters” another pause “they burned the plains until all that was left was ashes, day after day after day the plains burned, even the water pokemon were unable to take the fires out.”
“Were the Hunters people?”
“Yes, unfortunately they were”  “The plains burned for weeks, unable to protect their home, the former inhabitants left with great sorrow and pain” .Now Silvernight’s voice was filled with intense sadness.
“What happened after the plains burned?”
“The inhabitants came back about 10 years later after the incident, only to find that not one blade of green grass was present” “They pleaded to the spirits to help their home, to bring it back to life, but nothing happened”
“Were the spirits they pleaded to pokemon spirits?”
“Yes, they were, the people and pokemon stayed at their home, hoping that the spirits would someday answer their pleas” “Then one day a whole legion of dragon pokemon came to the plains, and they sang” “They sang a song that was enchantment to both human and pokemon ears” again he paused in thought. “The next day when the people and pokemon woke up, the plain was back, but this time more beautiful and elegant”
“Wow, that’s really something that a simple song could do that.”
“Yes, it really is amazing” “ They were told that a person named the Spirit Master sent the dragons.”
“Who is he?”
“The Spirit Master is the true master of spirits, just as the name suggests.” “He then told the people and pokemon he would take the plains and bring them to the heavens where they could not be touched again”
“And did he”
“Yes, the Master made it so that the plains could only be gotten to through the Spirit Stone and an heir of a spirit pokemon” The people said they wanted the land to be known as Dragon Song, and from there from today, the plains remained unchanged.”

Still working, and the attached file is a picture of Silvernight.
