Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock!
Welcome to Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock! A game like the classic rock-paper-scissors but with some funny variations that will make it a lot more interesting. You won't rely only on your luck to win the game, you'll have to think strategically and make good social bonds to continue in the game.
Sign Up:
- To join, post in this thread indicating you want to participate.
- A maximum of 10 players will be accepted, and a minimum of 5.
- Sign ups end at February 26th at 8 PM (GMT -3) or when the 10 spots are full.
Game Mechanics:
- The game is divided in rounds. At the end of each round a player will be eliminated from the game!
- At the beginning of each round, players will be sorted randomly in a list, which will remain until the round ends.
- Each player will compete with the one above and the one below in the list (the first player in the list doesn't have a player "above", so it competes with the last player, and vice-versa). If the player "loses" to one of them, it is removed from the list for the current round.
- If more than 1 player keeps in the list of the round, they keep playing until there is only 1 left. This last standing player will be declared as the winner of the round.
- The winner of the round will decide which player is eliminated from the game!
How To Play:
- After the list of players for the round is posted, each player will send me by PM the action that will perform. The action will consist of one of the following 5 options: Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard or Spock. See the section "Who Wins Who" to see which options defeat each others.
- A player cannot choose an action he used in the last 2 times. See section "Recent actions" below.
- Additionally, the player may play a card (see the "Cards" section below) at the moment of sending his action.
- All the actions and card effects will be processed at the same time and the results will be posted in-thread.
- If the actions are processed and all the players are out of the round, the winner will be decided by random.
Who Wins Who:
Recent Actions:
- When a player performs an action, it will be added to his Recent Actions list.
- A player can't perform an action that is in his Recent Actions.
- Each player's Recent Actions list will have a maximum size of 2. That means when a third action is performed and added to his Recent Actions, the oldest action will leave the list.
- Each player's Recent Actions list is public.
Round Example:
Players list:
- Player A
- Player B
- Player C
- Player D
- Player E
- Player A chooses Scissors.
- Player B chooses Scissors.
- Player C chooses Rock.
- Player D chooses Spock.
- Player E chooses Paper.
- Player A ties vs Player B and wins vs Player E. Player A stays.
- Player B ties vs Player A but loses vs Player C. Player B is out of the round.
- Player C wins vs Player B but loses vs Player D. Player C is out of the round.
- Player D wins vs Player C but loses vs Player E. Player D is out of the round.
- Player E wins vs Player D but loses vs Player A. Player A is out of the round.
Rules:
- Each player will have 48 hours to send the actions. No actions will be accepted after the deadline, and once you send the action you can't change it.
- Failure to send the action will result in a warning and the elimination for the round.
- 3 warnings means you are eliminated from the game.
- The player who wins the round will have 24 hours to say who is eliminated from the game and who will receive the cards from the eliminated player. Failure to do this will result in a warning and a random player will be eliminated, including the winner.
- All the random decisions will be made through RANDOM.org.
- Private communication between players and alliances are allowed, but always keep me in them.
Cards:
- At the beginning of each round, a random player will receive a card.
- The winner of the round will receive a card.
- You can only play one card at the moment of sending your action.
- After playing a card, it is discarded.
- Each player can't have more than 3 cards. If he receives a 4th one, a random card from his previous 3 will be discarded.
- The effect of the card will be private, only the owner of the card will know it. It will be revealed only at the moment of using it.
- The amount of cards that a player has is public.
- When the winner of the round decides who is eliminated from the game, he has to say who will receive the cards from the eliminated player too. Only one card can be given to each player in this way per round, and the winner can't receive any of those cards.
Up Immunity: The action from the player above doesn't affect you. (You can't play this card if there are only 2 players in the round)
Reveal: Choose a player. That player's cards effects will be revealed in-thread.
Special Considerations:
- Excluding the simple Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock game, which is played between 2 players, this entire game was created by me. That means it may have its weaknesses and inconsistencies because I've never put it into practice before. Apologies in advance.
- Any feedback you may have will be strongly appreciated and will be very helpful to make the necessary tweaks for future editions.
- I'm human and I can do mistakes. If you note something wrong from my part, just tell me.
