Mario Kart ruins friendships anyway, may as well turn that into a forum game!

This is a very simple game. Everyone starts the game with a gun. At any time during the action phase, you may PM me one of the following three actions:

1. Shoot [living player who is not you].
2. Shoot myself.
3. Do nothing.

After everyone submits their action or time runs out, all shots are resolved simultaneously, with nonsensical and hilarious flavor to keep things fun.

If you shoot a player, you kill them and they die. If that player chose to shoot themselves, however, then you die instead. If you shoot yourself and no one else shoots you, you die. Or you could steer clear of everyone and just do nothing, idly wishing your life away.

An example to demonstrate. PMJ, Drohn, Athena, DNA, Teal are in a game. PMJ shoots Drohn. Drohn shoots himself. Athena shoots herself. DNA shoots Drohn. Teal does nothing. Resolution: PMJ and DNA die because they both shot Drohn, who shot himself. Drohn survives because he shot himself and was also shot. Athena dies because she shot herself and no one else shot her. Teal avoids everyone and survives.

There is no altering of an action once it has been submitted unless the host gives permission to do so.

Each action phase is 48 hours long or whenever all living players submit their actions, whichever is sooner. There are no extensions.

If you fail to send in an action, you will die. Be the last player standing to win!

This game isn't just based on Mario Kart 8; you can be any character that was previously cut, too! I know that a lot of fan favourites have been cut over time (Dry Bones, Petey Piranha... my personal favourite, Paratroopa) so this is a chance for you to be those characters once more! You can also choose any item, including all of the axed ones, such as the specials from Double Dash!! or even the feather from Super Mario Kart!

Furthermore, there has been a change in mechanics for this game. Each player now has a piercing shot from the beginning. However, once there are 5 or less players left, these piercing shots will be redundant. OK, this sounds odd, and incredibly hectic, so you may use this piercing shot as a piercing defense instead. Piercing defenses block piercing shots, but you only get one, so use it wisely!

That situation is impossible. If one person uses a piercing defence, and the other uses a regular defence, the two actions will not interact.

BTW, sign-ups will end at 23:59 GMT on Saturday the 16th.

beep. beep. beep. BOOP!
The suspended lights flash before your eyes, signalling for the race to start. You're anxious, you want to do well, and you know you've got it in you. The rest of these competitors look weak anyway! You were happy to see characters from all the reaches of Mario Kart coming together for a tournament, but you couldn't help but wonder about the other rule changes that had recently been made. Every man for themselves? Only some will make it out alive? It's all a bit dangerous... As the cars set off, engines whirring and air rapidly whipping at everyone's skin, all thought rushes out of your head. All you care about now is winning the race! Winning... the....

You wake up. It's the finals of the Mario Kart Tournament Spectacular today, and you're excited. You can't believe you made it this far! That said, though, it seems like a lot of the underdogs got through. The likes of Mario and Bowser were eliminated way early on in the competition... but that just makes it exciting, right?

You arrive at the track -- first to get there, of course -- and you get a chance to stare down your competition. In fact, there was a kind Lakitu, the organiser of the tournament, doing it for you! He ordered all of the competitors to line up, ready for the pre-racing interviews:

Metal Mario... aren't you just Mario wearing a metal cap? We told you, if you're out, you're out! Metal Mario just replied with oddly metallic grunts, so the interviewer gave up, and moved on.

Boweser Jr., how does it feel beating your father in the preliminary rounds? Lakitu was henceforth slapped in the face with goopy orange paint. Once again, he moved on.

Pac-Man, noticeably you're not a Nintendo character. Do you feel discriminated? Lonely? The interviewee stared at Lakitu blankly. He was hopeful that he would get a response from this odd yellow man, but the second he noticed a rainbow of ghosts headed in his direction, he decided it was best to move on. Pac-Man opened his mouth to speak, but it was too late... The video gaming icon spawned a Fire Hydrant from beneath him, and decided to have a seat, waiting for the race to begin.

Lakitu quickly floated over to Link, a... fairy... elf... kid. "Aren't you too young to drive?" the Lakitu exclaimed. When Link began unsheathing his sword, Lakitu felt it best not to press on this point. He tried again, this time asking Link about his childhood. His cloud was sliced, and the wounded Lakitu walked onwards, exhausted from the participants thus far.

Ahh, Dry Bones! You were excluded from Mario Kart 7 and 8, followed by a huge outcry from the fans. Does this make you feel warm and fuzzy inside? Dry Bones took a bone out of his rib cage and slapped Lakitu over the head with it. "Message received..." the poor yellow turtle(?) murmured, before begrudginly trundling along farther.

He glanced at Roy Koopa, but quickly decided against interviewing him. He still had the scar from the semis... Instead, he decided to talk to the princess. She's obligated to talk to him, right? Lakitu floated over to her (for his cloud had respawned) and decided to ask the royal woman how she was feeling about the race today. Peach offered him some cake as he approached, but Lakitu had to say no -- it's a rule for all staff at the stadium. He was promptly smacked with a frying pan. Ow. To add insult to injury, another competitor, Toad, tackled Lakitu out of his cloud and to the ground. "Sorry! Our princess is in another castle!" the small mushroom man exclaimed. Lakitu replied "How thick do you think I am? I was talking to her just now. You SAW me talking to her! Now get off me, I'll leave!" Toad released his grasp, and sat down next to his employer, exhausted.

There was one more chance that the interviewer could find, and that was... him. Shy Guy. The only thing the yellow tutle can think about whenever he sees the thing is what is behind that mask! The odd-natured creature was dancing around a fire with a bush on his head ON STILTS, but Lakitu needed to know!

Lakitu learned two things that day. 1: Never ask a Shy Guy about his identity, and 2: Never try to take off their mask yourself. It hurts. Anyway, Lakitu did notice something. He'd only talked to 9 people. "Where's the Yoshi?" he thought to himself. He then noticed a blue dinosaur cowering in the corner. "FINALLY! Yoshi will talk to me!" Lakitu announced with excitement!

"Yoshi! Yo-yo-yoshi! Yosh-yoshishiyoshi YOSHI YOSHI!!!!" The blue dinosaur beamed at being spoken to, and offered Lakitu a seat. "Of course," Lakitu muttered under his breath, "it's a Yoshi.... Stupid, stupid, STUPID." He then decided to resign from his duties, and sat down for a drink. He thought that the lonely dino could need it...

Deadline is 22nd January at Midnight GMT OR when I get all actions in. Hopefully there won't be any modkills this game, seeing as how there's only 10 of you :p
