The new region is filled with Pokémon; including many that we have never seen before! This thread will give an overview of the Pokémon that are found in Kalos, their types, abilities, location, and move sets. Note that the content is being updated based on official sources. This Pokédex will include the new Pokémon that are introduced in the 6th generation. Once the other Pokémon that appear in Kalos are known we will update this list to include the complete Regional Pokédex.

Which moves will they be able to learn? What abilities will they possess? Will they evolve? Post your thoughts and speculation about the new Pokémon that are found in the Kalos region here! Don’t forget to use arguments and to elaborate/explain in your posts!

Map and Pokémon Locations
Rusty Sticks said:
Courtesy of Bobdor on Reddit, we have a map of the locations of all Pokemon in the game, be them found in grass, water, rocks, you name it.

Map (pretty big)

The legend is at the bottom left. Please note that due to an error on Bobdor's part, Diglett CANNOT be found at Route 13. The correct Pokemon is Dugtrio. Diglett can only be obtained through breeding.

Green = Future event

Wow, this looks amazing!
I can tell this will be a huge help in going through X/Y for many people!

(small note, I think the X/Y demo confirmed that Litleo had Unnerve, Helioptile had Dry Skin and Sylveon had Cute Charm)

Some level up moves for the starters have been revealed. True we don't know the level they learn the moves, but you could still list them.

I will add the moves when more of the learnable moves and the level on which they are learned are known! :)

Thank you! For the descriptions I'm planning to wait until the official Pokédex entries are known.

So what do you all think so far of the new Pokédex? I've seen a lot of speculation about what kind of Pokémon people wanted; it seems like Gamefreak listened to some of them. We have a Tyrannosaurus Rex, a Panda, a Lion, and a Fire-type starter that will probably not become Fighting-type! Unless it gets skilled in Wooden Sword Fighting.. Hmmm... haha.. Is what you hoped for already in here?

I'm looking forward to see what Clauncher evolves into. People have been mentioning Water/Electric, which would be really nice I think! Not sure what that is based on, however. We also still don't have any new information about Orroto.

Clauncher is based on a Lobster.
Actually, you could do a list on what real-world animals/plants/things the Pokémon are based on.

Actually if you read the description Clauncher was given, a pistol shrimp is more accurate. Also explains the one large claw used to fire projectiles.

"It uses its one oversized claw not only to seize prey but also to shoot condensed water at others as a projectile."

I really wanted a Lobster Pokémon, too. :(

There's still hope! Clauncher may evolve into a lobster that can attack with both claws.
His color scheme would fit the rare blue lobster.
Internet says one in every 2 million lobsters are born blue.

Reading this list gets me all excited for X and Y. It's less than a month away!!

I'm guessing that Liteo will have a middle evolution. The jump from a simple looking cub to a monstrous fire lion/lioness is a bit big.

Heiloptile will possibly evolve into a raptor/umbrella lizard combination. I say umbrella lizard because frilled lizard just sounds so....boring.
Maybe that's where its normal typing comes from.

This is an awesome list.
Thanks for making it!

The frilled lizard is an actual animal, and it's kinda scary looking to! They are known to run on their hind legs with there frill open; so perhaps we'll see an evolution that looks similar to the Jurassic Park Dilophosaurus.

It is confirmed that Chespin learns Tackle, Fennekin learns Scratch, and Froakie learns Pound at level -.

Sylveon has Cute Charm as its ability, Helioptile has Dry Skin, Litleo has Unnerve, and Pangoro gets Mold Breaker as well.

Thanks for the information! :) In which trailer/demo was that shown? It isn't on the official website.

I'll update the attacks when we know for sure at which level the attack is learned. They might have learned it by level 5 when we get them, but we won't know until we breed them from level 1 or if it's mentioned in the strategy guide (or other official sources).

The abilities were revealed in the demo from the Pokémon Game Show, August 18th.

The starter Pokémon were shown with three attacks at level 5; Tackle, Growl, and Vine Whip for Chespin, Scratch, Tail Whip, and Ember for Fennekin, and Pound, Growl and Bubble for Froakie. Assuming a Pokémon has to start with at least one move, they have to start with Tackle, Scratch, and Pound respectively. (the other two attacks, like you said, will be learned either from start, or somewhere between level 2 and 5)

Also, the starter Pokémon are received in Vaniville Town (level 5).

Is this Pokédex going to include generation VI Pokémon only?

The abilities were revealed in the demo from the Pokémon Game Show, August 18th.
It is very likely correct, but since all trailers and demos show that gameplay may change I will wait for the official site to add it.

(the other two attacks, like you said, will be learned either from start, or somewhere between level 2 and 5)
For the attacks I will wait until we are certain of the levels at which they learn it.

Also, the starter Pokémon are received in Vaniville Town (level 5).
I added their locations, thanks! I wasn't sure whether it was confirmed or not.

For now it will be an overview of the new Pokémon. Once the games are out we will update it to include the complete regional Pokédex(es). :D

Hey, something that actually looks like it's going to be useful without going to that serebii website like a pleb.

Is this our only database planned for the release of X/Y? I'd be interested in seeing an item database as well...when it's appropriate.
