How To Sign Up For a Pokémon Trainer Club Account

This purpose of this thread is to help members in the signing up for a Pokemon Trainer Club Account on pokemon.com. What you will need:
~Your POP ID
~Your Pin #
~a valid email address
~a parent if you are under the age of 13

1. Go to http://www.pokemon.com on your browser.

2. In the upper right hand corner, you will see a picture that says join now. Click on the "log in" button by the picture.

3. Now you will see two boxes.

4a. If you had an account on http://www.go-pokemon.com enter your username and password. You should then be taken to a screen that says your account requires activation. Press the button to send an activation email to the email account your profile had on the old site. It should arrive within 48 hours. If it doesn't, you will need to use their support system. Your account should then be activated.
4b. If you did not have a username and password on go-pokemon.com, you will use the box on the right hand side. In the picture that says sign up, press the continue button.

5. Enter your Country and birthdate. (yyyy-mm-dd) Then hit the "Next" button.

6. Fill out the rest of the form. Some terms:
Username is what you will use to log in to your account.
Screen Name is what your name on your trainer card will be displayed as.
Player ID is where you put in your ID number.
Organized Play Pin should be filled in with the characters on your card that say Pin #.

Important If you are under the age of 13, provide your parents email address instead. Your parent will then be contacted with an email from pokemon.com titled "Pokemon Trainer Club Parental Consent Request". If they click the Grant Consent button, then they will be prompted to make an account. They then need to activate the account by the email that will be sent to them. When they do so and log in, there is an approve child page. The parent then must agree to the terms and conditions for the child.

If you haven't recieved an activation link within 48 hours, post a ticket through the support system with a title of Activation Link not sent.

I will do my best to answer any questions you may have that you post here.~MarK J.

This is a great guide, but is it really neccesary? The sign up process is self explanatory, and the site already tells you how to sign up. Good idea though!

I feel that it is necessary because I have been having to help players through the process that attend my league as well as some other people that I contact on AIM. This thread should help reduce the amount of emails customerservice gets asking about how to activate and make an account.

Update to this:
If you have one of the old POP ID cards that don't have a PIN, fill in all other fields except for PIN and submit it.

When I do that is says...
Please ensure that you enter the correct Player ID and PIN, and that you accept the OP terms of use.

What should I do? (I don't have a PIN if you can't guess)

Did you make sure to check the spot that says you agree to the terms and conditions? If it still doesn't work you will have to contact custerservice@pokemon.com . I am merely providing the information I was given by Dan Brandt.

Yeah, I remembered to check it.
I guess I'll e-mail them, I saw some other people over at the Gym that had the same problem
BTW, I have another problem, but I'll PM it to you

The Player ID and PIN are different, right? Does it say the PIN on the card?

Warning: Don't trade with pokemonmike from PokeGym.

Player ID and PIN are different. The new IDs have a PIN listed on the card. It will be right below the Player ID. If you have one of the older IDs, it will not have a PIN. Fill in all fields except for PIN and submit it and it should accept it. If it doesn't you will need to contact custerservice@pokemon.com.

If you don't have a POP ID/Player ID, you can get one by participating in a Pokemon League or a Premier Event in your area. The League Locator can find the closest leagues to you. The League locator can be found on http://www.pokemon.com . There is also a Tournament locator there as well.~Mark.
