3 -2-1 Togekiss (Great encounters)
3-3 Weavile (Diamond and pearl, Secret wonders)

Moonlight Stadium – 2 - FREE RETREAT
Night maintenance – 4 - DRAW 3 CARDS FROM DISCARD
Rosanne’s search – 2 - FIND 2 ENERGY OR BASIC POKEMON
Premier Ball – 3 - FIND LEVL X

STRATEGY:

If sableye starter, use rosannes search to find darkrai + sneasel (if none in hand, if either in hand, get the other plus an energy). Get darkrai and sneasel leveld up asap. use find pokemon to find togekiss and rare candy when time is right.

Togekiss is main attacker, weavile power turns her to dark type, Darkrai power allowes +10 to every dark energy.

Through attack - 70 damage + 30heal or 100 damage depending on coin flip.

QUESTION:

1. when can you level up your pokemon to a level X? does the pokemon need to be active to level it up or can it be leveled on your bench?

2. Darkrai power - if I have 3 dark energy to power up my attack, are they counted in the +10 or is it every dark energy after the attack cost?

Please tell me if this deck would be any good or not, What are the decks weaknesses, can they be repaired? What should I change/What don't I need? I think I may need more energy.

Thanks guys.

Ugh, I hate it. I hate it all. Stupid sand teams. However, I had nothing much going on a couple of nights ago, so I decided to make one anyhow. I've noticed when I've played against sand teams though that most are horrifically weak to Swampert, and often rely solely on Celebi to deal with the mud fish. However, Celebi hates Ice... something that is already disliked by Hippowdon and any other ground type you'd use with it. BASICALLY, that would make half the team weak to ice, and that's one more than I'm willing to tolerate.

This team's weaknesses are all balanced, but there's so many moveslots I'm not sure of it's insane. There's also a couple of strategies I'm seriously not convinced I can handle right now, so... it comes to this. This isn't my usual style of team, so I guess it's natural to come up with some issues.

My current moves are the ones listed first. Any options I'm considering when I get Wi-Fi back on Saturday, when I have the chance to clone and make alternate movesets. Let's see if you guys can fix them:

Impish Nature
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Def, 4 Atk
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream

Moveset:

Earthquake
Stealth Rock
Roar/Ice Fang/Stone Edge/Toxic
Slack Off

Ugh. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. Hippo is the most annoying thing ever (usually) whenever I play against it. It's ridiculous, what this thing can survive... Basically, this thing sets up SS when the match starts, and SR in the face of anything that won't Taunt it. It can recover from virtually any physical attack, seeing as how it has instant recovery. Only thing NOT to like is the lack of resistances, as well as the somewhat low SpD.

The third moveslot has a lot of options. Roar is currently chosen, to help abuse SR and remove annoying DD's and SD's out of the picture. However, I'm fully aware that the standard suicide lead craps all over this as it stands, because they're immune to EQ and can Taunt every other move. For this, I'm considering Ice Fang, or possibly Stone Edge for more power. If I did this, I'd possibly change another team member in a bit so that I'd still have shuffling somewheres...

Toxic is a consideration because bulky waters tend to be the best first-time switch into Hippo. Toxic catches them nastily on the switch, and it comes with a choice as to who I hit. This team won't use Toxic Spikes because I frankly hate the things, and they would get in the way too much.

EVs can't be changed since it was given at lv 100. It's unfortunate, since I wouldn't mind some SpD in there, but oh well, it's good at what it does best I suppose.

Impish Nature
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Def, 6 Spe
Ability: Sand Veil
Item: Leftovers

Moveset:

Toxic/Aerial Ace/Ice Fang
Knock off/Aerial Ace/Ice Fang
Roost
Earthquake

Again, I hate it. This thing works so well it's painful. Since Gliscor usually lacks offensive power, and I have SR on something else already, Toxic was chosen to wear stuff down. Same idea as hippo if I choose it - Toxic hits most bulky waters very hard, and they usually don't like poison. Knock Off is to rid the opponent of lefties and random choice items/LO, weakning their staying/killing power. Roost for healing (hopefully using Sand Veil once in a while), and EQ for STAB.

This moveset isn't TOTALLY killed by Taunt, since I still have Knock Off to use. Aerial Ace is being considered for Heracross in my current setup, or Ice Fang for a dragon.

Relaxed Nature
EVs: 252 HP, 162 Atk, 96 Def
Item: Leftovers

Moveset:

Spikes
Earthquake/Revenge/Payback
Rapid Spin/Revenge/Payback
Explosion

Forry is my spikes man, as well as serving as a decent spinner for removing SR from my side of the field. Whilst I by no means hate SR due to weakness, it dampens my switching opportunities, which isn't good. At a push I could do without it though... we'll see.

Unfortunately my speed IV is 31 (-_-), so Gyro Ball is useless. Earthquake is a decent move to use for incoming Magnezone, although if they Magnet Rise after coming in it would be problematic. I'm considering Revenge so that I have a fighting move, as well as a move that hits Magnezone regardless. But if I had THAT, I'd be totally useless against Ghost types... of which I'm already useless against some. To that extent I'm also considering Payback. It may well be better over Rapid Spin though, since I don't have a WEAKNESS to it at all... just a dislike. Payback would be nice to hit a dragon locked into Outrage, however.

Explosion is the ace in the hole - when I have the required spikes down, and Forry is weakning, Explosion takes an enemy down with him, and would hopefully cost the opponent a vital component of their team, which was threatening a sweep or something like that.

Modest Nature
EVs: 252 HP, 48 SpA, 176 SpD, 32 Spe
Ability: Trace
Item: Leftovers

Moveset:

Will-O-Wisp
Wish
Thunderbolt
Psychic

Beautiful. One of the few parts of the team that I truly don't despise. She's awesome, and should be used more . Or not, so that I still feel special for playing with her and not something like Blissey ^_^

So, Gardy makes for a decent switch into a fair few special attackers, and is capable of crippling the physical ones with Will. This eases her time against Pursuit, making it not quite so much of a death sentence for her as it is for most other psychics. Wish is used to support the team as a whole, and is a good option when Gardy's primary role is support.

Psychic is STAB and Thunderbolt helps with annoying opposition like Gyarados and Vaporeon (which is 2HKO'd by this set, from my own battle experiences). Focus Blast was an option, but the accuracy puts me off. A lot.

Gardevoir should see more play for one reason - Trace. You all love it and use it with Porygon2, but the original Tracer (came out before) was Gardy, and she abuses it just as easily. Perhaps more so thanks to her gargantuan support pool - really, she can do almost anything she wants to help out her team. Trace neuters Heatran, most Jolteon, Vaporeon, and really annoys the likes of Gliscor, Salamence, Flygon, Machamp, Breloom (if Toxi Spikes was laid down), Blissey and Togekiss/Jirachi. If you pack Focus Blast, you can really irritate Magnezone as well, and if you come in on a weaker attack you can KO Dugtrio too. That isn't to say she beats all these guys 1v1, but copying their ability greatly hinders what they can do to you.

Calm Nature
EVs: 252 HP, 240 SpD, 12 SpA
Item: Leftovers
Moveset:

Rest
Sleep Talk
Surf
Ice Beam/Roar

Same basic set as last time, Empoleon returns to serve as a status absorber for this new team. It also provides somewhat more concrete special defending than what Gardevoir achieves, although the pair of them do very well against most special threats (even Gengar usually, despite it carrying SE moves on both of them). Empo once again doesn't rely on the Wish support of its team-mate to live.

Currently, Ice Beam is used so that I can stop the sweep of currently outraging dragons. However, especially since I have ResTalk here, Roar is an excellent move to consider, and could prove very useful if I keep all the entry hazards about. It would save me having to have it somewhere else on the team I suppose, and it would be nice to have it frm a special defender for a change.

Naive Nature
EVs: 252 Atk, 232 Spe, 26 SpA
Item: Leftovers

Moveset:

Dragon Dance
Outrage
Hydro Pump
Waterfall

I don't like it atm... it's not the right nature/EVs to fit the team. I will be changing this to Adamant, 96 HP/252 Atk/160 Spe, with DD/Waterfall/Sub(maybe Return)/Outrage soon, when I find the ideal Kingdra to do this with. Buuuuuut Naive is the only Kingdra I HAVE right now, so I'm making do.

Usually donning LO, this set is basically meant to wreak havoc on stuff (especially when weakened). LO in a SS team is suicide though, so lefties is the item of choice to block the harmful effects of the storm out. Hydro Pump still does an adequete job of removing nasty physical walls from the scene, providing it hits (I'm looking at you Gliscor >:( ). Outrage is as dangerous as ever, and Waterfall provides good STAB and power. Considering the higher speed of this guy, the flinch is handy also. Doesn't really fit the team MUCH though, except for providing a handy 4x Fire/Water resist.

So, that's that... I hate it, I really do. HOWEVER, it's far from complete (or even decent atm), so now it comes to you guys for assistance. Some issues I'm already seeing:

1) Taunt. Public Enemy #1 for this team is Taunt, and with the way it's built there doesn't seem to be a lot that can shut it down. With EQ often being a solitary attack, levitating Taunters will likely be a nightmare, and it could take a lot to beat them.

2) ResTalk. Particularly Milotic, but not confined to her, ResTalk could be really problematic. Reason being that ResTalk removes the entry hazard damage, and any damaging status I inflict. Milotic is a bigger worry because I have very little to forcibly remove her - the ones that resist it the most don't have tools to do a lot BACK to her, and Marvel Scale really messes with my more physically inclined offence.

3) Breloom. Oh, my, GOD is he annoying. I love the thing, and try to use it regularly, but dear god it's a nightmare for this team. Outspeeds everything except Kingdra (lol Focus Punch), and just smacks them in the face with either SubSeed or Focus Punch, often both. Even taking Spore out of the equation doesn't stop it - it's just a beast. I'm considering the simple fix of making Gliscor faster than it and running Aerial Ace, just to spite it. Maybe that's all it'll take, I dunno.

4) Rapid Spin. I haven't been able to shove a ghost in the team for anti-spin, and that worries me... seeing as how I run both spikes and SR. I might change the layout of the team to a less stall-based SS and run some more aggressive stuff like Scizor to get around this, but the fact that I don't have something to stop spin is worrying. Not that spin is used a ton anymore, but it's still around, and could still hurt. Particularly in the case of a mirror match.

5) Toxic Spikes is a concern, since 3 pokes are hit hard by them, and none of them like to be poisoned. I considered Tentacruel for the team, but dismissed it due to the ground weak, as well as the electric it would bring being less than ideal. Something like Drapion might be nice to absorb Toxic Spikes, but then that begs the question - why bother? Toxic Spikes is the reason I'm running Forretress over Skarmory - Rapid Spin is a MUST if I'm to avoid taking heavy poison casualties.

There you have it. A lot I dislike, which is kinda natural given the type of team this is. It's one of my most hated team types ever, and so why I even MADE it is a mystery to me. But I did, and it's up here now, so... fix it!

Hey I really like the Flygon in BET and the Hippowdon, their attacks looks to play off one another. But I could be wrong. Flygon does 60+10 for each benched evolved you have, and Hippowdon does 80 and damages all pokemon that are not evolved. I would like to think they work together. Here is an idea I got

4 trapinch
2 Vibrava
3 Flygon BET
1 Flygon LV X
2 Hippotatas BET
2 Hippowdon BET
1 Hippowdon Lv X
2 Baltoy
2 Claydol

3 Roseanne
4 Bebes
1 Luxury
3 rare candy
2 premiere ball
2 night maintenance
3 Time space tear
3 Team Galactic Wager
