Their poses are similar. Toungue One isn't better than the other.

LOVE the new Delibird! Gone with the excess Mascara around DP's eyes! Toungue

I can see why they like it more The new sprite gives us what parasect is hiding in the D/P/PL sprite plus it looks a little more bulkier.
