    Discussion BKT-On Supporter Counts

People played 4 Juniper(discard, draw 7) before VS Seeker. There is no reason to think people shouldn't play 4 Sycamore now. You just have to be smarter about playing your Sycamore now. The only exception to this is probably Silveon GX decks, that get whatever they want every turn and are...

    Discussion BKT-On Supporter Counts

Lillie's problem right now is that there are better first turn supporters for most decks and "draw 6" isn't very good with Sycamore and N in the format. Bianca WAS a good card, back before we got N. Most decks ran 4 Juniper (Sycamore), 4 Bianca, and 4 Cheren, substituting out Biancas and...

    Discussion BKT-On Supporter Counts

I'd say 4 Sycamore, 4 N, 3 Guzma, then it depends on your deck. Wicke is bad. Don't play Wicke. Wicke doesn't get you any extra cards, and you aren't guaranteed to get a better hand (statistically, you are more likely to get a worse hand off of Wicke), and you aren't guaranteed to give your...

News September's SM4 Set: 'The Awoken Hero' and 'The Transdimensional Beast'

I don't see the use of Dash Pouch unless Float Stone rotates, and even then, another switching card would be more ideal. If the goal is to conserve the energy, then you could just play Acerola. Chimecho sounds okay, but highly situational. Against decks that don't use abilities, it's...

At this rate, we'll have more Bewear cards than Charizard cards soon.

Discussion Does Dragon Need a Basic Energy Type?

@Otaku After a quick (15 minute) internet search, I have found exactly ZERO sources (except you on a few sites) that played less than 16 energy in Haymaker, and the guys who played 16 admitted their counts were on the low side. Most people played 18 energy, which sounds reasonable and pretty...

Discussion Does Dragon Need a Basic Energy Type?

I remember Haymaker (yes, I'm THAT old), but the deal with Haymaker was everyone played about 20 energy (about twice the amount played right now) because Energy Removal and Super Energy Removal were 4-of staples, meaning potentially 16 of your energy would hit the discard without anything...

Discussion Does Dragon Need a Basic Energy Type?

Not at all. By the way the game works now, the text "this card counts as basic energy" isn't even necessary. All Special Energy is marked as such with the text "Special Energy". Just omit it, and it is basic energy. There is no rule stating that basic energy can't have any special rules...

Discussion Does Dragon Need a Basic Energy Type?

It wouldn't be that hard to implement Basic Dragon energy. PTCi releases a basic Dragon Energy and an errata stating that all non colorless basic energy costs of Dragons are now Dragon energy. OR TPCi Prints a Dragon Energy that reads "This card provides [C] energy. When this card is...

Discussion Eww, Ho-Oh-GX has a Lightning Weakness

Why Ho-oh GX? Why not something like Drampa GX or Tauros GX? They run off of Colorless energy and have fighting weakness. Drampa GX + Choice Band OHKOs Tapu Koko GX as long as you have damage on your bench. Tauros GX + Choice Band OHKO's Tapu Koko after it takes a Sky High Claws.

News Japan's SM3+ Set: 'Shining Legends!'

Be realistic. A 16 card combo to hit 240 that get's ruined by bumping the stadium, or setting up ability lock is NOT a "powerful force", especially in Expanded. Just because you can make numbers work on paper, doesn't mean it is a valid strategy. There are MANY better options in expanded...

News Japan's SM3+ Set: 'Shining Legends!'

Skyfield won't be legal (most likely) when Zoroark GX is, so he's capped at 120 before Tools/Kukui/etc. He will see play for the ability alone. Last time we had that ability, it was on Empoleon, a Stage 2, and it saw a ton of play. The attack is even similar. Empoleon did 10+10 for each...

News Japan's SM3+ Set: 'Shining Legends!'

I believe Hex Maniac will likely rotate (Ancient Origins) and M Pidgeot EX's free retreat + Guzma means you can Mach Cyclone for the OHKO on Muk. We will probably still have to deal with BREAKpoint Garbodor, though.

Discussion What Pokémon Do You Want to See as a GX, and Why?

All I want is a PLAYABLE Charizard card. Doesn't need to be a GX. As for GX cards, fully evolved Starters and legendary/mythical Pokemon that don't already have one. Add in some Pseudo-legendary Pokemon like Tyranitar.

Alt. Format Volcanion post-rotation & BUS

I have been testing Kiawe in a Ho-oh GX deck and, from what I have experienced, you REALLY want to use it T1 or T2. Late game it is very weak, because most of your energy will be on the field or in the discard and you will almost always benefit more from an attack (Power Heater or Nitro Tank)...

    Alt. Format Kiawe's Ho-oh

Since the SM3 set has been fully revealed, I decided to build a Ho-oh GX deck with Kiawe. I made some proxies and sleeved them up. In short, this has potential. This is a rough list, so it will need work. This deck is built with the upcoming rotation in mind, so I don't play Shaymin EX or VS...
