Welcome back to Pokemon TCG. At this point, "top" decks receiving a lot of pre-new season hype, at least in my area, are:
  • Darkrai EX - Garbodor
  • Darkrai EX - Yveltal EX
  • Darkrai EX variants
  • Greninja
  • Mega Alakazam EX
  • Mega Mewtwo EX - Garbodor
  • Mega Rayquaza EX
  • Mega Sceptile EX
  • Mega Scizor EX
  • Primal Groudon EX - Carbink
  • Primal Kyogre EX - Articuno - Glaceon EX - Manaphy EX - Palkia EX - Regice (aka Water Box)
  • Volcanion EX
  • Xerneas variants
  • Zygarde EX - Carbink
I'd suggest perusing the Deck Garage Forum to get examples of some or all of these decks. Whatever deck(s) might interest you, I would then recommend building a draft and then submit your deck draft(s) into the Deck Garage for some suggestions on how to perhaps improve your deck(s).

The decks that I've seen that are good in standard are Mega Rayquaza/Magearna,
Volcanion EX,
Darkrai/Giratina/Garbodor,
Xerneas BREAK/Giratina,
Greninja BREAK/Talonflame,
Yveltal/Zoroark/Max Elixir,
Primal Groudon EX/Carbink,
Water Box with Articuno and Glaceon EX and Regice.

Depending on your area, you may have majority expanded tournaments, so you may have to keep up with that format as well. The top decks in that format are Yveltal, Raikou Eels, and Rainbow Road along with Turbo Dark
