Hi, I've been involved in pokemon, mainly casual play and collecting for years but after attending 2 Breakpoint prerelease I want to give tournament play a try and see if can be successful. i played Yu-Gi-Oh competitvely for years and was ranked top ten in my state for years but think pokemon is more fun atm.

Pokémon:
  • 2 Giratina EX (AOR)
  • 2 Lugia EX (AOR)
  • 1 Hoopa EX (AOR)
  • 1 Shaymin EX (ROS)
  • 1 Manaphy EX (BPT)
  • 1 Jirachi (XY Promo)
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums:
  • 4 Professor Sycamore
  • 2 Lysandre
  • 1 Xerosic
  • 2 Hex Maniac
  • 2 Skyla
  • 2 Shauna
  • 1 Professor Birch's Observations
  • 1 Delinquent
  • 1 AZ
  • 3 VS Seeker
  • 2 Max Potion
  • 1 Super Rod
  • 4 Ultra Ball
  • 1 Fresh Water Set
  • 4 Enhanced Hammer
  • 2 Fighting Fury Belt
  • 2 Bursting Balloon
  • 2 Faded Town
  • 2 Shadow circle ( Makes any pokemon with rainbow or DDE have no weakness)
Energy:
  • 4 DCE
  • 4 DDE
  • 4 Rainbow Energy
Strategy:

My thought process for the deck is too get out Giratina out quick, either drawing it or going through hoopa to get it out. I play Manaphy, ideally a 2nd one, to be able to retreat for free most of the time, which is why i put in rainbow energies to help get more use out of Manaphy's ability. These are the cards i currently have, id like to play a fourth VS seeker as well as an additional shaymin ex and manaphy ex, but any help would be appreciatted. I also put 4 stadiums in here because it can allow me to hit for 150 damage on T2 with Lugia.

Okay, I think this core of pokemon has some potential but it is missing the key speed aspects that make decks competitive in tournament play. It has a fairy giratina feel to it but lacks the energy mobility that aromatisse has to offer.

I'm going to take some time to think before I make any specific suggestions, but I'll share my thoughts. Another Shaymin EX, Vs Seeker and Ultra Ball are a must. Cut down your very thick supporter line (especially the tierno) and the hammers to replace some with helpful item cards like 3-4 trainer's mail. The faded town are not really that helpful when you have Giratina EX to block all damage, try skyfield or parallel city. Yveltal (any version) is not really a good fit for this deck and should be replaced with another Lugia-EX.

Made some tweeks, planning to go to winter regional in IL in 2 weeks and seeking if any minor tweeks that would be good to make going into the tournament. will be my first regional in pokemon. Anyone know what the average attendance is for a regional in pokemon?

The format hates special energy. Xerosic, Jirachi, and Enhanced Hammers are huge weaknesses to this deck because it runs only special energy.

I could be wrong, but I am not sure that Break Point will be legal for the IL regionals. It may be worth double checking.
