Ultra Pro has definitely felt the decline in market share over the years when it comes to sleeves. Back in the early 2000s, all you could get were Ultra Pros that ripped easily, stained and scratched. Now almost everyone I know picks alternatives.
Eclipses were definitely a step in the right...
It's obviously impossible to say what amount of players falls on which part of the personality matrix for Pokemon TCG, but from the data I've seen for games I've worked on, competitive players are usually the biggest minority (below 10%, usually nearer 5%) - and I don't just mean...
I don't really care about what's playable and at which rates in Tier 1, because that concerns a minuscule amount of players. There are going to be great decks and perhaps even dominant decks. We also aren't nearing some kind of "true balance", arguably the entire "multiprize" mechanic is...
I have to agree here, recent sets are promoting the DLC - most people don't care, the legendaries (beside Ogerpon) are ugly and unimaginative. SV Pokemon design was generally very weak. Collectors are waiting for another retro set.
Good news is, thanks to this facts these sets will be available...
Reusing Poison as a "positive" mechanic is somewhat clever, if not for the fact that Pokemon willingly killed Poison (and Burn). But given that it's four Basics you have to play together it looks pretty restrictive.
Kyurem is just hilariously blunt. I get "fixing the rampaging power creep" and I...
That is definitely not enough to develop a game, but what the announcement is referring to is a subsidiary. It is worded extremely vaguely, might as well be some kind of tax thing.
Extremely hype set. Hopefully Perrin and Carmine are going to carry the collector side, but I also hope it won't get underprinted while having so many good cards in it.
Charizard ex is... tame? What kind of card had this type of effect in the SwSh era, or SuMo era, or even XY era? To claim that SV is "careful with overtuning cards" when the block literally started with Miraidon ex and Electric Generator is farcical.
Would Zoroark-EX-like card make a splash in...
Not really surprising, because what is really there to compete with it? YGO is big in Japan (definitely bigger than overseas), but nobody would think it compares to PTCG. Magic is actively doing everything to lose as many players as possible, as fast as possible. The new alternatives - Lorcana...
