I played POT in Zoroark/Golisopod on Saturday at the London TCG cup. I hastily copied Tord's build, purely based on the Puzzles, but I'd been toying with it myself so it definitely wasn't a 60 card copy.
They're absolutely amazing, frankly I wouldn't want to play the deck without them.
Dunno if it qualifies as a 'tech' because it's there for multiple matchups, but Drampa is a very useful card to run as a 1 of because you can hit 180 consistently with a choice band. couple this with an initial spread from Koko and you've got a very versatile answer to some of the higher math...
Registeel and Cacturne with Alolan Raichu and some other colourless attackers got me some pretty solid results. I wasn't really invested in winning but once I was comfortable with the deck it could have taken me anywhere tbh. on the day it didn't due to a bad start, of course!
IMO the only secret rare worth collecting from the SuMo era is the Mewtwo tube design. I’m not basing this on value, competitive etc - I just think that card looks stunning and really stands out from the rest. The 5ban gold cards and full art trainers are nice (usually) but you definitely have a...
Yeah, absolutely. I'm a GoliGarb player at the minute and I don't really like this enough. I definitely wouldn't bring it to a serious event. My list feels like I just shuffled a Turbo Turtles and a Garb based deck together! Salazzle and Garb are great, but having Volcanion and Turtonator at the...
I've also been thinking a lot about this since I saw the new card earlier! We've had broadly similar ideas I think, but enough variation to make it worth explaining. My current list is:
2-2 Trubbish/Garbodor BKP
2-2 Salazzle GX (with the logic that it's a late game attacker, primarily)
2...
The point of starting baby Volcanion is to discard energy first turn by any means (Ultra Ball being the most obvious). Shining Ho-Oh is not good because you can't rely on the ability in a Garbotoxin meta and it takes 4 energy to do not a lot of damage. Entei is also one of the worst GX Pokemon...
Nothing about Mewtwo, or any of the shining legends cards, has really been proven or tested in a competitive environment yet. To an extent it’s too early to tell. On a personal level I think the card is worse than existing options and while I’d like the one with the tube artwork as a collectors...
Triple feels like overkill but do what works for you.
My Leles etc are inner sleeved KMC perfects and outer sleeve Dragon Shield and they’re still basically perfect. I play them in tournaments, testing etc and there’s not a whiff of damage. I travel them in deck boxes and stuff and keep them...
Played against a version of this today.
As a garbodor player, if my opponent's game is basically over when I get turn 2 garbotoxin then there's work to be done. To be fair, I was playing against someone who isn't very good at the game because he did struggled to get a Lysander out after about...
I prefer a 4/2-2 Garb line in order to better guarantee you'll get the late game trashalance if you need it. I also like 2 FF Koko for early game and free retreat.
Not convinced about parallel city. On paper, it doesn't seem to add much to the deck. Why have you included it?
You might want...
I've been lucky with Lele and pulled two from packs. I then spent £50 on blister packs and whatever chasing the third. I didn't even get anything of note except a couple of Garbodors and a full art Koko GX.
It was at that point I realised I should just buy the single and save my money for...
Some of these figures are actually really cool. I'd probably buy these things if they got their act together and made them safe for the UK / Europe. As it stands with these dumb big cards that are useful for absolutely nothing, I'll pass. :(
