Yeah I know! They'll say something dirty about you on then go around telling everyone that you're some sort of baby but really, I mean seriously!! I play pokemon because it's a toned down, less violent version of yu-gi-oh!
It's definitely not because it's less violent, but I also used to like both Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh but then just chose Pokemon.

Yugioh players are known for cheating and stealing (not all of them)

i was originally a yugioh player .. then switched to pokemon due to the violent field of yugioh .. and worse, my friend pwns me so hard ..

I am not in high school anymore but a couple of friends stareted playing pokemon cards RIGHT in the middle of our college cafeteria and NOW nearly every table is being taken up by card games of some sort (Pokemon, Magic, Yugioh). Heck we have been KICKED OUT of the cafeteria for playing Pokemon Cards

I guess I'm one of those normal people. I'm friends with the "popular" people, but also with the others who aren't in that group. I haven't told anybody I like Pokemon except my best friends, but if it comes up in a conversation and a person asks me if I play, I'm not going to be ashamed and say "No I don't like it".

And...why? What bad could they possibly say about Pokemon? My 11 year old neighbor Rajah(He's VERY IRRITATING and quite stupid, but he says everything and everyone is retarded. What a little hypocrite!) said Pokemon's for babies. So...I simply asked him why. My friend Addison(an older teen) was supporting me and Rajah could never give a real, straight answer, and the whole time he was showing how ignorant he really was!

PENNY POWER. You just don't get it! Believe it or not, in many places (California for me) people think pokemon is VERY lame, dumb, and immature!!! Especially immature... It sucks. I know. WE think it's cool, but few other people do. But honestly, I have no clue how there's a place where all of 8th grade doesn't make fun of pokemon. Just stop telling us that people think pokemon is cool and won't laugh at us, because in many places in the US, pokemon is severely made fun of. You could come see for yourself if you wanted.
EDIT: And it never really does come up in conversation with people, "Do you like pokemon?", because everybody thinks that nobody (at this age at least) even plays it.
