My Gyarados deck works quite well. It's easy to get it set up by T2 if not by T3 then you're just hitting for 90 till you die. Just make sure you have anohter Gyarados and a Pokemon Rescue in your hand for when you Gyarados does die so you can get a new one straight away (providing you have GTS in play).

It's hardest match-ups IMO though testing is Speedrill variants and Luxray GL Variants. Speedrill can get up just as fast as you but they won't be htting for anything up too 90 damage untill T3-4. it's a winable match-up its just all down to who can set up the fastest and of course luck. Luxray Variants can hit you for weakness and just one Crobat G drop and having Lucario Gl/Lake Boundary in play just means a OHKO for Gyarados. Against everything else, Gyarados it does ok. I'm considering running it for CC if not Speedrill w/Expert belt
Yesterday, i finished 5-0 (4-0 in swiss plays) with Gyarados.
I beat Obamasnow/Manectric, Kingdra/Alakazam, Dialga G, Palkia G/Luxray Gl

I met my 4th round opponent in finals(top 2 cut only; 1 player off from top 4 cut). I beat him both games.
i went 4-0 with gyarados yesterday.
i played top 2 and lost the mirror 1-2. it was also the player i played round 4.
i also found an amazing tech for gyarados that means you win the mirror match

Is it Mr.Mime [MT]? If it is then I'd like to say that I've been using it for a while now.

I'd also like to add that for the five Battle Roads that I've gone to so far I have ended 5th, 5th, 1st, 1st, and 1st in that order with the records 5-1, 4-1, 7-0, 7-0, and 6-1.
nope its infernape e4 lv.x
What's the idea behind that? Use Intimidating Roar four times against the mirror and you win? I have something even better that won't be as hard to get out, can't be Power Sprayed, and can be used T1 for major disruption. It's something that I tech three of into my deck that has now become a neccesity in almost all Gyarados decks; it's Cyclone Energy.

The ONLY reason I see playing Infernape 4 Lv.X is to be able to have disruption and take care of some of those water resistant grass Pokemon. I would find it more useful when AoA is released (because of Tangrowth Lv.X i.e. virtual 150 HP healing machine against Gyarados). But even then, you'd need at least 3 fire energy (to ensure none are prized). That takes up a total of five spaces. I guess you could take out the Mr.Mime and 4 Cyclone Energy from my list to have to need only 1 more spot. But then the deck becomes slower, more inconsistant, and more vulnerable to bad starts or draws.
mr mime doesnt do much against sp decks were with infernape e4 lv.x i can draw out weaker sps for the 1 shot
cyclone energy is a 1 time thing takes up 2 more slots then infernape sp and is nonsearchable
infernape is easy to get out and hes most useful when you don't make him a priority to get out.
trevorispro: Infernape 4 lvx is a huge target for Flygon. I am not saying that they will ko it right away but it is there when they need a prize.
I am guessing flygon is not popular in your area.

How does Cyclone Energy take up two more spots than Infernape 4 Lv.X? It only takes up one more spot; 1 Infernape 4 and 1 Infernape 4 Lv.X compared to 3 Cyclone Energy. Infernape 4 Lv.X does the same exact thing as a Cyclone Energy would except in the form of a Poke-Power which is worse in my opnion because it can be locked from Gardevoir (if people still play it), Mesprit, or Power Spray. And Cyclone doesn't have to be a one time use. You could use it on a Crobat G after you get KO'd and then Poketurn it to use again later. Cyclone Energy provides an energy to retreat as well if need be. And like rage780 said, it'll just become an easy prize for Flygon late game.
Just got back from my BR. 80 peeps. I played Obama.

R1: Flychampape, it was too clunky and just fell to my smooth and sweet spread. (1-0)
R2: Speedrill. I smacked his G start in the face, and he couldn't keep up. (2-0)
R3: Genchampcanth. I started with a 4 prize lead, but he hit both of the Fainting Spell and sniped my poor pixies for the win. (2-1)
R4: Flytrap. I got extremely lucky and played well. I hit the 6 turn Power Lock so I could BZ the Palkia X. (3-1)
R5: Speedrill. He had 4 Beedrill by T3. It was over, but I decided to stall with Hide for as long as I could. I ended up buying myself 5 turns in the process though lol. (3-2)
R6: Rhyperior. I ended up KOing her Delcatty early, giving me the advantage. Her, having two Rhyperiors prized, had trouble keeping up with my Spread/BZing. (4-2)

Ended up 11th out of 32, as my resistance was pretty bad. Although my two losses did end up Top Cutting, and were my two predictions for the Final two after seeing who they would have to face.

Random notices:
Obama rocks
Palkia Lock phails hard
Gyarados is annoying and clunky.
Flygon is everywhere.
With the upcoming release of AoA, how do you think it will change the metagame and/or decks?

Dawn of Xatu:
Since we can no longer post our deck list, I was wondering if we can post the list in the team forum.
I think the biggest change in the metagame is going to be the addition of Spiritomb. I've been doing some theorymon with some friends and it seems it helps a lot of the slower decks. Something that I'm looking into is using it in stuff like Flygon or GG. Everyone here knows how Flygon beats SPs if it can get setup. Well with a Spiritomb starter they can't use and Energy Gains, Power Sprays, Poketurns, SP Radars or their Premier Balls. This slows them down tremendously. It'll also slow down things that Flygon also as troubles against like Gengar. If they can get a T1 Gengar against Flygon, the Flygon player knows that they better get extremely lucky. Spiritomb also helps in the aid of activating Upper Energy by screaming "Knock me out!" by putting damage on itself. Spiritomb will also stop the things like Uxie ruption or those pesky fossils.
The Jive Forums could be a place for decklists, but by my interpretation of the new addition to the Clans & Clubs rules, we are still allowed to toss a decklist out here from time to time.

So we can do a couple of things:
1 We can post in the forums, which is pretty simple.
2 We continue to post decklists here without regard to the rules.
3 We post a couple of decklists here, but we put some sort of ratio/limit on the number of decklists/other posts.

Anyways, regarding to Tomb. I really don't see it doing much. I can work around Tomb by just bulking up the Pokemon line and adding in BTS to all Stage 2 deck. Spiritomb gets rocked by all Stage 1 decks. So the only real help is with SP decks, which doesn't actually do much, since after a turn, they should be able to knock out/ gust away the Tomb. Not to mention that Cyclone Energy may see some more play to counter Tomb (Absol/Pachi + Cyclone)

What I see messing with the format the most is Expert Belt. Having 30 damage deafen locks, Gust and Hit for 90, 190 HP Rhyperiors with Rage, and the ability to take 3 prizes with Salamence, are all possible now. All we need now is a quick and effective (Non-Supporter) way for us to get out Expert Belt.

Aside from that Arceus looks terribleh. Salamence looks playable with Crobat and Luxray as a quick prize nabbing machine. Tangrowth looks too slow to do well, and all it looks to do is reduce anybodys want to play Gyarados. Rapidash may be a new deck/tech that we will see around. With the new Cherrim we could make a Rapidash tank, and with Pokeblower we have the SP matchup as well as the speed to try and take out Flygon/Other new decks. Lopunny/Nidoqueen is another combo that I am looking into, too bad spread is dead.
I really think that salamence could be good. The fossils are also good.
The fossils are just a bad Rampardos, with the added bonus of taking up twice as much space.
