That happens with me too...
Zyflair and I have another complaint/problem. We aren't able to change from the wide mode to the normal mode. We're able to select it, but it won't save.

I would like to sincerely apologize for buggy Platinum 3.00 release.

I don't normally do this, but I'd like to take the time to give you a big thank you. I use Redshark daily and enjoy it greatly. Your quickness to respond to these bugs is amazing, far better than a lot of programs I've shelled out a great deal of money for.

I know you must be busy with other paid projects as well as fixing this, just didn't want to let the opportunity go by to say, I for one, am very grateful for your hard work.
I completely agree with the above post. Thanks so much for being so responsive to issues!

I don't know if this has already been reported or even fixed in the 3.00/3.01 (didn't play since then), but I want to mention an older (but sometimes really annoying) bug that may be difficult to fix because I don't know what's the reason why it occurs.

In some games, Redshark starts to show the wrong cards on my opponent's side after a while, for example lets say, it shows Moonlight Stadium when he's playing Warp Point. It also doesn't display the correct energy attached to some Pokémon, and the longer the game lasts, the more confusing my opponent's playfield will be. My opponents told be the same thing happened to them with my side in some other games.

Here some screenshots for example:
Screen-1
Screen-2
Screen-3

(I happened that I host all of those games, however, the bug did also occur when my opponent has been hosting.)

ShadowGuard,

Thanks for the post...yes that's a classic problem of one player's deck getting out of sync with his own deck on the opponent's computer. I'm hoping that my latest version will eliminate that problem...but only time will tell. Once it happens, you're best to just quit the game and start over, and try to remember what game actions took place immediately prior to noticing the problem. It's not always an easy thing to do, but any tip you can give me will help, because until I can reproduce it, I can fix the bug.

Thanks a lot for the kind words, it's always nice to hear about people enjoying the program. I really enjoy working on it, although adding new features is usually more fun than finding and squashing bugs - there is always some satisfaction in solving problems.

Enjoy v3.02 & beyond!
For some reason I'm not able to download it. When it's finished saving and going to install it a message saying "This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package." And no, I didn't click on the Mac version.
How do you create and save a deck on the latest Mac version?
If you click and hold on the "hand" box and drag it to the playing field, it will bring a card even if there is no game going on and it messes up the window and you have to exit to get rid of it.T_T
is there ever gonna be a copy of redshard made where the cards have actual pictures?? i think that would be very cool!

Thanks for the tip, I'll fix it for the next release.

Sorry,I doubt it...but "never say never".
Mac-only Redshark Info (in no specific order)

  • How do I install it? Please read the "ReadMe.rtf" file.
  • Context menus are launched by Rt-Click or control-Click
  • Saving a Deck: When I try to save my own deck, it says

ERROR: Unable to write deck file. Be sure your login account has privileges to create & write files to /Volumes/redshark_3.02/redshark.app/Contents/MacOS

If this happens to you it is most likely caused by the fact that you never really installed the program by dragging it to your Applications folder.
  • How do I play an opponent over the internet? Although a bit antiquated, the best place to understand how to play Redshark over the internet is to read the "Network Play" section of the html Redshark Help that is accessible from Redshark's Help menu. One significant difference between the PC & Mac versions & internet play is the 3rd party software, Hamachi. Hamachi is only available for Windows, but there is a HamachiX product (both free), that is for Mac OS X. Note that HamachiX is not as mature of a product as Hamachi, and isn't as feature rich (e.g. it does not support chat).
  • IMPORTANT - My limited testing to date has shown that for internet play using HamachiX, I have only been successful when the opponent is using Hamachi (Redshark PC), not HamachiX. I found this to be true no matter which player is the Host and/or Guest.
  • Where are my deck files? Redshark 3.02 deck files are located in the Redshark Application folder, which is access by Rt-Clicking on the Redshark program and then choosing the "Show Package Content" menu choice. When that open, open the "Contents" folder then the "MacOS" folder, that's where the deck files are. I planning to change where deck files are located on the Mac in the next version.

I don't think anyone answered this.
Would this work?

THe new version is cool, still it always give me error messages when I'm using the letters ä ö and ü since it doesnt know them. Old Version never had that problem. (Hope you can see the letters btw)

Also, the programm tends to mix up cards and my opponent suddenly asks me why I attach a night maintenance somewhere. The cards somehow get mixed up during the data exchange, its perfectly normal for me, but my opponent seems something else. I guess the programm mixes uop hand cards, afaik I mostly have the card my opponent sees in my hand as well.
And once the programm starts it often gets worse like this.

I love RS, but this buggyness sometiems forces you to just quit games, which is not cool. A fix would be apreciated, keep up the good work =)
I notice that once per game the program drop a second card from your hand even though it is not selected when you are playing one card from your hand like a supporter card or pokemon card.
I also notice occasionally when you play a roseanne and select two cards, one random card that was not selected or highlighted from your deck is put on to the field next to where you play the stadium card. The random card is an extra copy of a card in your deck and will produce an error everytime you try to move it. It stays on the field for the rest of the game.
