Pokemon has announced the English title of the 17th movie – Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction – and has also released an English dubbed version of the trailer that debuted in Japan a few weeks ago. It is currently unknown when or where the English film will premiere.

Diancie is pronounced “Dee-an-see,” the diamond is called the “Heart Diamond,” and the Dialand is called the “Diamond Domain.”

In the underground Diamond Domain, where many Carbink live, the Mythical Pokémon Diancie serves as ruler. The Heart Diamond that sustains the land is beginning to fall apart, and Diancie is not yet strong enough to create a new one. While seeking help from the Legendary Pokémon Xerneas, Diancie encounters a group of thieves who want to take control of its diamond-producing power—and who awaken the Legendary Pokémon Yveltal from its cocoon in the process! Can Ash and his friends help Diancie discover its true power, stop Yveltal’s rampage, and save the Diamond Domain?

The Cocoon of Destruction and Diancie

A few teaser summaries have been released for The Cocoon of Destruction and Diancie, the 17th Pokemon movie. Thanks goes to Puddizzle for translating them!

The Dialand. A beautiful, pristine world, home to many Carbink. It’s known that it’s underground somewhere, but nobody knows its exact location. And inside the Dialand, there’s a gigantic diamond, named the Lifestone. The Lifestone has been the source of energy for the residents of the Dialand for ages. Historically, there’s been one sole Pokemon who can create and maintain this giant gem: Dialand’s princess, Diancie. However, she’s unable to do her job. And thus, time goes on…

With Diancie unable to maintain the Lifestone, its time draws near…

At this rate, the Dialand will collapse.

Diancie meets Ash and Pikachu, and with their help, search for the Life Pokemon, Xerneas…

In this movie, Diancie’s the princess of the Dialand, an underground world home to Pokemon like Carbink. But now, its keystone gem shines no more, leading to Dialand’s destruction…

Diancie meets Ash and Pikachu, and with their help, search for the Life Pokemon, Xerneas. But they encounter a cocoon, a shell for the resting Yveltal, who once destroyed the entirety of the Kalos region.

The Pokemon anime is getting with the times and coming to Hulu in the United States. All visitors to the site can now watch the first five episodes of Diamond and Pearl (season 10) and soon the first two episodes of XY. Hulu Plus subscribers (which costs $7.99 a month) can watch all of season 10, Pokemon Origins, and The Rise of Darkrai. Eventually, seasons 11 through 13, Giratina and the Sky Warrior, Arceus and the Jewel of Life, and Zoroark: Master of Illusions will be available to subscribers as well. The anime is already available on Hulu in Japan, so Pokemon seems to have a deal with them.

Cocoon of DestructionThe official Japanese Pokemon movie site has updated with a teaser synopsis for the first XY movie, Cocoon of Destruction. Thanks goes to Franco T. for the translation below!

Long ago in the Kalos region, the “Great Destruction” extinguished all lives.

This “Great Destruction” was caused by Yvetal, a Pokemon that absorbs the life energy of all living things. Once Yvetal destroyed everything, it changed into a “Cocoon of Destruction,” which it still sleeps in today.

When the Great Destruction occurred, the only one able to resist Yvetal’s power was Xerneas, the Life Pokemon. It was said that Xerneas could give life to people and Pokemon.

Now, the journey to encounter the two legendary Pokemon begins!
