‘Ultra Prism’ Booster Pack, Box, and Theme Deck Images!

We can now exclusively reveal some (Italian) Ultra Prism product images! The set will be released in America and Europe on February 2nd.

The set’s booster packs will feature Dawn Wings Necrozma, Dusk Mane Necrozma, Giratina, and one other Pokemon hidden from view. It’ll probably be a Gen IV Pokemon like Lucario, Dialga, or Palkia.

Fitting with the set’s Diamond and Pearl theme, the theme decks will feature Empoleon and Garchomp:

Ultra Prism is our equivalent of Japan’s SM5 Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon set, which released in Japan today (where it’s Friday).

Empoleon – Water – HP160
Stage 2 – Evolves from Prinplup

[W][C] Total Command: 20x damage. This attack does 20 damage times the number of Pokemon on each player’s Bench.

[W][W][C] Whirlpool: 90 damage. Discard 1 Energy from your opponent’s Active Pokemon.

Weakness: Lightning (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

Garchomp – Dragon – HP150
Stage 2 – Evolves from Gabite

[C][C] Quick Dive: This attack does 50 damage to 1 of your opponent’s Pokemon. (Don’t apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokemon.)

[F][C][C] Champion’s Blade: 100+ damage. If you played Cynthia from your hand during this turn, this attack does 100 more damage.

Weakness: Dairy (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 0

We are still waiting for images of the set’s Elite Trainer Boxes (featuring the two Necrozma), the promo blister pack images, and the remaining booster pack. We should have them soon, so be sure to keep checking back!

Yup I can already see it; Lucario will be a holo in the set and this theme deck will contain a special non-holo version of it (and possibly same to Cynthia as well).

Seems wierd to think that Empoleon will be a non-holo in the main set, while Infernape and Torterra are likely to be holos.

Maybe I rescore Empoleon 4 Geodudes, because it can deal at the maximum of 230-250, enough to OHKO most Big Cards in the format.

My guess in that pack art is Darkrai.

The crystals in the frame is so cool

That means Garchomp and Empoleon will become non-holo rares in the set.

Looks like your opponent is going to need that potion more than your active Pokemon

I'd quite honestly be dissapointed. This Garchomp deck seems actually great, since Garchomp is playable.

Derium dubbed Lapras GX as the "Big, Dumb Mouth Lapras." I think I'll dub this Giratina pack art as the "Big, Dumb Mouth Giratina." Why does seemingly everything have to have its mouth open on 3D pack art and EX's/GX's? Just makes some things look goofy...

And in a surprise twist, both trial decks feature potentially great cards?! That rarely happens. And the possibility of Cynthia being in the Garchomp deck might be a good sign that they hopefully made Cynthia an uncommon. Then again...
I wouldn't put it past them to do this.

    Why 230-250? Isn’t it 200 max?

The more I see on this set, the more excited I'm getting. Between Garchomp being decent, Empoleon being decent and that one Infernape that I want to build an Expanded deck around, I'm getting pumped.

Now that I look at the Empoleon again it is really pointless playing it with the break because it's breaks attack is quite useless and the break would only boot its health by 10.
