SM4 Silvally Memory Cards Revealed!

Two new SM4 cards have been revealed: Psychic Memory and Fighting Memory. They are Pokemon Tool cards that can be used exclusively with Silvally-GX. People have long wondered how Silvally’s RKS System will be represented in the TCG, and now we know! Just as in the video game, Silvally’s type changes to match the Memory it’s holding.

Tomorrow, the official Pokemon website will be updating with full set lists (and images?) for SM4, so we’ll have a big update here as well!

Psychic Memory – Trainer
Item – Pokemon Tool

The Silvally-GX that this card is attached to is now a Psychic-type.

Attach a Pokemon Tool to 1 of your Pokemon that doesn’t already have a Pokemon Tool attached to it.

You may play as many Item cards as you like during your turn (before your attack).

Fighting Memory – Trainer
Item – Pokemon Tool

The Silvally GX that this card is attached to is now a Fighting-type.

Attach a Pokemon Tool to 1 of your Pokemon that doesn’t already have a Pokemon Tool attached to it.

You may play as many Item cards as you like during your turn (before your attack).

Called it. I hope there's a Metal one so it can hit Gardy for weakness

Interesting but expensive setup for potential OHKO for weakness on meta decks.

Memory cards? Heck yeah i love the PS2!

No but seriously. This makes it official that Silvally is pretty much the "Chase Card" of the set.
Energy Acceleration for quite a bit damage and some type coverage.
Probably fits in a lot of decks.
I could see this replacing Baby Volc in Volcanion. Maybe. Or atleast in part.

Silvally GX along with the type memories and Tear Apart Weavile from STS can pair very nicely.

I am almost 100% sure they will release one for eveey type. If they dont id be shocked. That being said theres always the possibility that they release them two at a time like theyve been doing with the SR energies.

So, we have Psychic and Fighting ones. That's pretty good type coverage. But if/when we get Metal, Water, Grass, and Fire, this gets really good partnered with Tear Away Weavile.

The problem is you’d waste tons of deck space on them

    • Memory cards - Amazing but disappointing. 1.)Field Blower is everywhere. If you run 2 copies per deck, it's hard to set it up because blower is just discard your tools and your set up is gone. 2.) I love how it covers weakness on some top tier decks but Silvally is Stage 1, you'll getting a hard time with that. 3.) You can't attach Choice Band for your advantage. 3-4 Geodudes. (Sorry for being so salty.)

Id be fine with less deck space in exchange for OHKOing everything.

Silvally is only one attacker. If you choose not to run a secondary attacker, there's your space.

If you do run a secondary attacker, that's 1 fewer memory type you need in your deck.

Well, I guess now's the time to truly talk about Silvally-GX partners. Someone smarter than me do it.

That would happen to be Silvally non-GX. The standard Type: Null that comes in the set cannot search out tools.

One thing, remember that Silvally will also get the benefits of that type. So Dimension Valley in expanded for example.

With the right memory, you hit for 240, so you'll want to have every relevant weakness covered.

Fairy memory is unnecessary, since dragons suck. Dark memory won't be very good. Same with fighting memory and electric memory. Psychic memory doesn't help you one-shot garb, so probably not worth running just for espeon.

Volc is super weak to jolteon EX, so if you run him, you can cut out electric memory (though you might not want that one in the first place) and water memory.

Or you could run Magearna EX to cover the ninja and garde matchups, then just use memories for the rest.

The dce+basic attack typing means you should just run it with the best attacker of a relevant type, but I'm not sure who wins that prize. Might be Salazzle.

Or you could run Yveltal EX/Silvally GX because OUR LORD AND SAVIOR WILL NEVER DIE

You could run silvally with solgaleo GX to abuse his energy acceleration, in which case, you might only want to run grass memory fur ninja, water memory for volc, and fire memory for metagross, since solgaleo can kind of just handle everything else on his own.

It's really gonna depend on how the meta shakes up.

Volc is not weak to Jolteon, it runs Ranger. I feel like trying to take advantage of these attached "types" won't end well especially if they get discarded.

Silvally is shaping up to be a very valuable Pokémon for the next several years. It's overall versatility, combine for with the fact that it now will be able to counter quite a bit make it something worth looking into.
