Lycanrock-GX Deck to be Included in January’s ‘CoroCoro!’

The January issue of CoroCoro magazine (releasing in December) will include an exclusive 60-card Pokemon TCG deck focusing on both forms of Lycanrock! Initially revealed from the decks are Rockruff (#008/013) and Lycanrock-GX in its Midday Form (#009/013).

This will be the first time the magazine has ever packaged a full Pokemon deck inside; usually it’s just a promo card. The magazine says all of the cards will be brand new. “SMP1” is the designation of the deck and each of the cards are out of a possible 13. This means the other 47 cards in the deck will be duplicates (multiple Fighting Energy, Trainers, Rockruff, etc.).

This move by Pokemon is presumably to get more children interested in the TCG. It’s likely most of the cards won’t be very good, especially since they’re being given out for the modest cost of a magazine. The cards will likely be as basic and understandable as possible.

In America, these cards will likely be included in our Sun & Moon set in February. Thanks goes to Bangiras for the translations!

Side note: we still don’t know what the capital “A” next to the card number is for. Maybe if it’s an Alolan Form, the A will be highlighted?
