2009’s Worlds Location; Grinder/Worlds Info
I will post photos of today either later tonight or tomorrow evening. I am very sleepy, and I have to get up early for the Grinders so I can lose. :D
We personally confirmed this information ourselves. Next year’s Worlds Championship will be held in San Diego, California. It seems like there is going to be a cycle for Worlds locations, though we cannot know for sure now:
- 2004 – Orlando, FL
- 2005 – San Diego, CA
- 2006 – Anaheim, CA
- 2007 – Honolulu, Hawaii
- 2008 – Orlando, FL
- 2009 – San Diego, CA
- 2010 – Anaheim, CA?
- 2011 – Honolulu, Hawaii?
We also learned that tomorrow’s Grinders will accept everyone who shows up, meaning there are no caps. Pokemon Organized Play is going to accommodate everyone who signs up, and they are even using the open play area for overflow from the main event room. If you are reading this and are attending tomorrow’s Grinders, they will not let anyone in the hall before 7:00 AM, meaning it is pointless to show up super early. You should probably get there 6:30 at the absolute earliest.
In addition to the above tid-bits, we also confirmed that normal Worlds matches will be 40 minutes long instead of the usual 30. With all of the above tournament information, it looks like P.O.P. definitely has their players in mind for this event. :)
